Is there a way for the United States and Russia to use blockchain technology to prevent nuclear war? For instance create a smart contract that prevents launch of a nuclear arsenal from either country, and other nuclear powers like North Korea?

If they were to put the Nuclear codes into a smart contract I really hope something like the DAO hack doesn't happen.  Grin Grin

Agree, if we can use nuclear waste as gas.

What if Russia and The US link their nuclear arsenals to the blockchain. The blockchain is used to create a smart contract that deters both parties including Kim Jong Un. Lol.

It may be interesting if each nuclear nation had back its arsenal with their entire GDP or their sovereignty.

Perhaps this requires new technology, new knowledge to be used for the benefit of mankind, for the development, achievement of new goals and horizons, and I believe the blockchain is a breakthrough technology that will change the whole world, and the future of the Crypto Economy

It could be possible to create a smart contract to launch a nuclear missile in the case that your county were attacked by another country but what could happen if this attack were caused by terrorists or hackers ? I think there is a human factor that is needed at the end of the chain

Maybe that could be mitigated by starwars tech based on the blockchain?

Nice in theory, not happening in practice. Who would they forfeit their rights anyways? That sounds like it would create a whole lot of other problems.

Maybe a kind of voting system would work as well? That's assuming that the majority of people do not want a nuclear war to happen... I tend to think of the possibility of a war happening only due to the ego of a politician being challenged.

After all the hacks we have been observing on the Ethereum platform I am not entirely convinced using smart contracts to prevent nuclear war is a very brilliant idea...

Even if it is possible, none of them will openly put their nuclear button on smart contracts.

Many other implementations of the blockchain will come before this scenario. If there would be a contract like this, why even have a nuclear arsenal? This again is so stupid and hypocrite if not to say next level treating symptoms, not the problem. I hope denuclearization will take place when reasonable people are back on top or when governmental but also intergovernmental processes operate via blockchain, where the community is the government.
