hey guys, so after lots of search, the only available gpus for me are the ASUS 1060 strix for $350 and the MSI 1080 armor 8gb for $888.
I got zero electricity cost, but the ROI seems to be pretty long  (according to my crypto buddy) and I'm not sure if things gonna go worse with time or not for difficulty and other issues. I'm mainly targeting equihash algorithm.

I can buy 2 1060s and 1 1080 that's all I can afford but the I just can't risk losing this amount of money I need your opinion on what I should do, it's my first rig and I'm kinda nervous. should I buy only 2 1060s , or one 1080 ? plus I've noticed that the average sols/s on nicehash arent exactly accurate according to lots of other sites, seems like nicehash is maybe a bit exaggerating. anyway the 1060s have an average of 345 sol/s on nicehash and 295 to 320 sol/s (stock - overclocking) in some other sites. the 1080 have 575 sol on nice hash and 500 sol/s in other sites (lots of people claiming it can reach higher).

so 2 1060 gpu might do better than a 1 1080 ? but which one is better to have after a 9 months to reach ROI ?
does nice hash really pays the numbers they claim ? (if prices are still constant off course) the 1060 $62/month , 1080 $104/month
ps the 1060 is available online not in my country, so there's will be no warranty nor a box as my friend needs to remove the box to avoid costumes at the airport which might affect the price of resale, the 1080 is in my country for a price that I'll probably never see again here, as for example the price of the 1080 ti has reached $1700.
I need to move fast and i depend on you guys for insight.

If you can't afford to lose the investment you need to make, I would not do it. Especially if it is your first time trying mining, it is not so simple.

And please, please understand that all these calculators and ROI predictors are NOT PRECISE OR RELIABLE. As we have seen very clearly the past several months, crypto prices are wildly volatile. It could be a 9 month ROI, but the price of whatever you are mining could theoretically crash or skyrocket. There are no guarantees in this space.

In your position, I would start out just buying the cheaper GPU. I might even just buy one and see how it goes, and then you can always buy another. Start slowly, in my opinion, and DON'T spend money that you cannot afford to lose.

you need to see how spiky cryptocurrency price this day, you can't use any Return of Investment calculator in this situation. I really sure will take action fast with zero electricity cost. The decision is yours.

I would recommend 1080TI they can go 700~750 sols for 250w and its better for the long term.
