I would say 4GB of ram would be enough for NVidia cards, for example I have a rig with 6 units of nv gtx 1080ti and 4GB is quite ok for it, as for amd cards it is not so, as I heard, depends on what you intend to mine, but generally 8GB for amd is better..

4GB is enough. I have 12 Titans on a GA-B250 with only 4GB ram. Tried 8GB and there was zero difference.

it's enough, what makes different with 8Gb RAM is only on overall performance, I mean if you are using your rig for multitasking LoL

RAM 4GB is enough to your system, and don't forget to increse your virtual memory, if you have 8 GB is better

Yes, it is enough, even with Window, a clean Window (not with a lot of resident utility to start at the startup).
But the best of all is to use Ubuntu : no more memory issues, no more issues with the number og GPU, hashrate increase, no automatic reboots, no reboot during hours... and so on....

Put the money in an SSD, you'll gain more.

4 GB is enough, but there are cases when 4GB + 4GB by different planks give a higher speed of mining. If there is such a possibility try.
