Connector Identification

I know this is not exactly on topic for this forum but I know lots of you fellows are electronics enthusiasts.

What type of connector is that? I'm looking for one that is a 10 pin if possible but 5 of these if I can just get the connectors official name.

My problem is that I need to break out this connector and it does not fit into a bread board because the 10 by 10 pins are off set:

So I need to figure out how to use it.

It's from the Sony dual shock controller. You can get a cheap replacement battery on deal extreme: http://dx.com/p/replacement-1800mah-lithium-battery-pack-for-ps3-wireless-dualshock-controllers-13314

For that price, you can just cut off the wire and use it.

Thanks for responding Ben but I don't have 5 of these batteries (I would need 20 actually) in order to harvest the connectors.

It looks like a 'JST' type connector, not sure of type or size.

You will also need to know the pitch (size between contacts)

it's 1mm pitch btw

Yeah that's JST. (Japan solderless terminal.)


They are used on Arduino etc. as well if you find something they have for it.
