Hi.
I am quite new. But i really love this forum! Great job to everybody.
Many people are measuring there money in their fiat, lets say doller, euro etc. But the main thing here is,... beating the market. Means for me, trying to make more bitcoins with investing / trading whatever in compare to bitcoin.
So when I entered the market the bitcoin dominance was around 60% Now we have around 36% market dominance.
Where is your prediction for this summer / end of the year,... and in the near future?

Bitcoin dominance has been swinging between around 30-80% in the last year or so. As the market matures and more serious competitors rise and gain serious traction, market dominance will probably keep reducing in time. Just see what Ether and ripple take away from the dominance.
It's not really a bad thing though, as long as it stays the biggest coin by some margin, I don't see bitcoin failing because it has lower market dominance.

I think we will have to look at the dominance of Bitcoin + All its forks. Bitcoin is not the flavour of the month for people investing in cryptos and its dominance has dropped in the last few months. I still expect it to recover to over 50% within a year and stay there. Given the number of people who have invested in Bitcoin, I do not expect it to drop below 40% in the long term.

Bitcoin dominance in terms of its market cap is meaningless with altcoins being able to easily cheat with their insane total coin supplies. Bitcoin in that regard can only lose, even if it keeps going up, because if Bitcoin goes up, the entire altcoin market lifts up as well. It's Bitcoin as a single coin, versus the rest of the altcoin market, which is basically +1500 different coins. Now tell me, how fair is it to judge on Bitcoin's dominance with this information in mind? It's market share that matters, actual usage, money circulating in Bitcoin's ecosystem, and not a silly metric based market cap dominace. If this continues, Bitcoin's market cap dominance will at some point dive under 10%, and you know what that means? Nothing.

Bitcoin dominance at this moment is really low compared on last year and other fork it have. But, that's happen because its popularity and demand increase as it hit 20,000$ last year. In my opinion thats the All-time high of bitcoin. It is normal to decrease the value of it. i also expect the down trend of bitcoin as of this month but in other-hand I am hoping to increase the price up to 50% to 60% of its lost this coming summer.

Who cares? Dominance, marketcap, statistics that serve no real purpose. When Bitcoin was going down, none of the altcoins no matter how revolutionary the shills claimed to be was doing any better. During the last drop, bitcoin actually "performed" better than the altcoin market by 2% if we refer to market cap. Is there any coin that can drag the entire market in one direction besides BTC ? No! If we talk about real dominance, let's talk about real world usage. How many bitcoin atms are there and how many stellar or cardano atms? How many shops accept bitcoin and bitcoin only and how many only one altcoin?

I suspect Bitcoin will continue to gradually lose market dominance over time, but as long as the size of the pie keeps increasing that doesn't matter too much. It's also good to have more variety in this market.
Bitcoin is the first cryptocoin, but it's not the best in terms of functionality, so eventually it will lose its top position to one or more altcoins that simply do the job better.
The million dollar question: which coins will be the ones who kick Bitcoin out of its top position?

What expact? Do you mean expect? Bitcoin is now dominating the whole market again and I believe that in no time, bitcoin might reach a big amount again. And also, in no time, the marketcap will be back with 500B cap .

I entered when bitcoin dominance was around 50% and now we are at almost 35%. For the near future i expect to see bitcoin dominance around 20%, with all the shitcoin dead and all their marketcap on the most important coins like ethereum, omisego, neo.. 20% bitcoin dominance would not be so bad, considering this number with a total marketcap of trillions.

It will decrease for sure, to maybe 20% but after 1-2 years it will probably go up again because there will be less coins with high market cap compared to today.

Exactly, you need to consider that more and more coins are coming in the market which dillutes the market dominamce of bitcoin thay is if we are talking about the market cap. You know why bitcoin is king regardless of what the statistics say just notice how altcoins are affected when bitcoin prices are going down or going up. That is dominance, the influence of bitcoin can be felt on all the market.

Honestly I don't want to have a prediction on this one because I really don't pay that much attention about the market capitalization and Bitcoin dominance because those are useless. Any cryptocurrency can surpass Bitcoin market capitalization specially those coins with huge supply if that coin will have huge volume, but that doesn't mean that those coins will become a better one if they surpass Bitcoin market cap. And who cares about the dominance thing? there are lots of altcoin coming out that is why the dominance of Bitcoin have dropped a lot in percentage, and every time that there are huge pump in some altcoins of course dominance will also drop. But it doesn't have any meaning.

it really meaningless to me, to start looking at bitcoin vs altcoins total market-cap to see which and what coin is dominating, when will know fulling well that marketcap is mainly based on manipulations. and if i may ask what advantage does Total Market Cap gives to cryptocurrency that No #1? and do not forget that almost all atcoins are paired with bitcoin which includes ETH, i.e any thing that happens to bitcoin affect them also, as bitcoin rise in value they rise as well.

Prediction for this summer is that Bitcoin will slump down to 25% but then by years end surge and have over 50% dominance again. I also think it might be the last time we see over 50% dominance ever for any coin including Bitcoin but that prediction is a bit more out there.

I must quote myself on this. Seems like during a bear market the truth slowly comes to light. BTC Dominance: 38.6% 2.6% in less than a week can only mean one thing, "In BTC we trust!!!"

If bitcoin goes into steady growth, then I think that bitcoin dominance will stay where it is approximately or even drop a bit. This is because alts seem to benefit from the steady growth of bitcoin, generally, and bitcoin is just going up slowly while they skyrocket. If bitcoin skyrockets in value, to another all time high, then things could turn out differently. I expect bitcoin dominance to return to around 45% if that happens. If we enter crypto winter, then we could see bitcoin dominance increase to 50-60% once again. People put more confidence in BTC than alts so BTC's fall will be a lot less than alts in general. Any of these scenarios I think the most likely conclusion we can draw is that we're nearing the bottom for bitcoin dominance. Can't see it go under 30%.

I am sure BTC will demonstrate its dominance for several years more (at least). It will continue until the time, when people still show their faith into Bitcoin.

The only scenario I see where bitcoin dominance increases over the long term is one where there is a big fall across the whole market. Long term (years) it's hard to think that bitcoin will have a dominance of more than 10%. It is one coin against over one thousand, it's just not feasible that bitcoin can retain its dominance. With every new ICO bitcoin dominance falls just a little bit more.

We can see from the different threads here about Ethereum and Ripple, people asking if they are the ones to topple Bitcoin, funds are flowing into these instead of bitcoin and out of bitcoin also to many many other very popular coins and yet more to come over the year and beyond so market share will most likely reduce. The main thing is that Bitcoin stays No.1
