Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I would not recommend using an online wallet, and only doing so when absolutely necessary.

For instance, I had to use the CDC e-wallet advertised in the CDC ANN thread, because I had no other option at the time. Now I have a sizable sum stuck, with no helpful response from the CDC dev or e-wallet operator. All I'm saying is: beware.

Not everyone is this game is a nice guy. Angry

Or just let the site just a while, then close the site or claim there's a bug, and then ppl can't withdraw funds.

Like this situation I'm in... Angry

This just tells you how fucked up is Litecoin as that they don't even have an online wallet. Bitcoin is like a nice visit to Finland. Litecoin is like going to a shit dump wasteland in India.
Why would ANYBODY mine litecoin anyway??? Bitcoin can adopt any improvements that Litecoin could offer AND it's already is getting investor, merchant and infrastructure support.
Is litecoin just some sort of bitcoin for the poor? Competing digital currencies is helpful but I just can't see how much better it can be than BTC.

No!! But I do understand your concern.

I recommend using our online wallet only for small amounts. Would never recommend using the online wallet as your only wallet or for large amounts.

Handy if you are out and about and need to make a payment but don't have your main wallet on hand.

Brother, take it from me, do not trust any online wallets with your Litecoin. Look at inputs.io if you need me to say more...
