I had an issue with funds being received to my wallet that were sent in December and still not received some 4 weeks later. So I eventually had a 90 minute online chat with an operator who promised that the issue would be resolved in 24 hours. I was asked to provide hash tag and other information that I was given by the payer. The next day I received an email telling me that the funds had been received in my wallet. On checking the wallet I was paid 2.3 Bitcoins, whereas it should have been 0.05 Bitcoins. I contacted online chat who told me to email support and advise them of the issue, which I did - this was about 5 weeks ago and I have heard nothing back. What now??

I'm guessing we're talking about an account on some exchange or similar service, not an actual bitcoin wallet of your own, as you mention online chats and support conversations. The difference is that if the bitcoins are actually in your own wallet, they're under your control. But in any case, I guess all you can do is wait for the support people to get back to you.

If I understand correctly, you were overpaid: 2.3 BTC instead of 0.05BTC?
If that is the case then you should try to contact the payer directly to return the excess amount.

Normally I'd agree but it seems that OP is using an intermediary account, rather than his own actual Bitcoin wallet (since the funds weren't credited originally). The issue here seems to be that the site/service/intermediary overcredit OP's account, rather than that the payer oversent. OP you can confirm by checking the tx ID on block explorer. It's the site he needs to refund, not the payer. It's a bit unusual that they wouldn't respond after 5 weeks on such a large amount. Suggest you try bring up the issue again (using same line of support messaging of course so they can follow the trail). |

Yes it is correct that I was paid 2.3 instead of 0.05 which is the correct amount due that the payer sent.
I am using 2pay4You with whom I have a virtual wallet, and it was them that paid the wrong amount to my wallet. As I said in my earlier post I have contacted them both by online chat and a very detailed email explaining fully what happened with no response. I will again try with both the email and online chat route and maybe they will deal with the issue? Meanwhile I guess that I just have to sit on the excess in my wallet.

I guess many would just have taken the bitcoins and run I agree few would have acted like him i guess Op is acting in good faith if he is able to withdraw his bitcoins then i suggest you get your btc of 0.05 btc to a wallet you have full control of and leave what has been overpaid to you so that support can fix this but 2.3 btc isn't a small amount, support should have responded by now |

Making new wallet, running that bitcoins trough the bitcoin mixer and sending them to new wallet is something I would done maybe. I`m not sure, but for 2.3 btc I would think twice, that is a lot of money for me. I wouldn`t think if that is some friend, or someone close, but for some company or big service I would give it a thought or two to take the money and run. But I have been scammed couple times, maybe I`m a bit cruel cause of that. When someone made a mistake for that amount who know how many bitcoins they have. |

I have been asked by one of your online chat operators to email you with details of an issue that I have with funds received in my Bitcoin wallet.
On Friday 19 January 2018 I had a long online chat with one of your operators to try to rectify a problem with funds that had been paid to my wallet that were not showing as being received.
I was asked to provide a Blockchain report as well as Hash key which were given.
Before the conversation ended and I was informed that I would receive an e-mail confirming that my request had been dealt with. This was forthcoming some 24 hours later.
But when I checked my Bitcoin wallet, there was a new receipt showing but this is an incorrect amount.
The amount that was paid to my wallet was 2.33651631 Bitcoins, but it should have been 0.0259000 Bitcoins.
Please advise me what action should I now take?

Have you already tried the live chat you've used with your previous problem?. Is this the site: https://www.2pay4you-holding.com/contact, If it is I found a telephone number. But are they usually slow in responding to mails/inquiries? because if it is, then that 3 weeks is normal lol. *coughs at poloniex* If it's the other way around, it looks to me that they don't care anymore  because if they do, they would have responded faster like usual. At any rate, if you're serious on giving the excess back, you have no choice except to wait. For now you can withdraw the original amount |

From their website it says that they have Support dedicated to Financial issues, did you try to contact that one? For now try holding it, there's no way they would just let 2 Bitcoins to be given away to their customer  But, if they did not interested on those coins anymore you might want to donate it to charity on their name  |

Wow! OP, you really have waited that long. Since you have tried your best to contact them but to no avail, I suggest you should keep calm and keep waiting. Its not as if you will be tracked down or filed, you reported the incident anyway. Perhaps their support units are busy or something, so its possible you may get a reply when you least expect it. Moreover, come to think of it, probably the payment was even yours or probably a compensation (I am just assuming though). Well just keep waiting.

What about the tx id bro. Have you got the tx id after you made the payment. There are some online wallet will not provide the tx id until it completes with the single confirmation at least. If you have tx id you can share that below to accelerate it. Antpool priority accelerator will works for better. If I am wrong you do not have tx id. You should forget the amount you transferred and lock this thread. Nothing can be done! |

That's the worst thing you can do! Never send back to the same address that you've got the money from without confirming it with the other party. They may not be in control of that address anymore and the money will be gone forever, which would be a waste since it's a huge sum. You already did what you were supposed to do. Contacted them via all available means and got no answer. Hold the funds for a while, maybe a week or 2 from now they will find out they're missing some money and contact you or they will find your messages and respond. If not, feel free to spend the money. I'd wait a month or 2 and then treat it like a gift. or donate it to my address BTC 32FS9mC6BPFMm57p7fAH2ubg83awPeCq7V

That's even worse than your previous idea. You should always take into your consideration that sending out those funds back into the origin address wont guarantee that they would able to get those money back and as you said maybe that wallet isn't really in their full control which means it would end up on floating into the void and somehow a senseless thing to do.Giving back those funds does signifies a good intention but be sure on how to do it because we do know how complex when we are sending out funds. |

I would say that you are lucky and also a gem of a person that trying return the excess amount which is not earned by you. Am appreciating your intension of returning back. I would say you to please wait for the opposite party to respond with patience and act accordingly. Hold the fund. |
