OK, Newbie here, mining for 3 months now. On my 5th and 6th mining rig. Buddies pretty much did all work helping with initial rig set ups as far as loading software/programs in to get me going. All going FINE until rig 5 and 6, We used same process/software/programs everything on setting these up. Using Claymore miner 9.7.

On these two boards it does not matter what I do I can only get FOUR cards(GeForce GTX1070s) to register. Running a Pentium G4400 processor. I have EVGA g3/2 power supplies and I have swapped everything out from known working rigs, swapped cards, risers, cables,  PSU's and even my dog. Everything swapped multiple times from various rigs that work fine, I'm using the UBIT PCI E risers that light up so i know they get power, in this case they stay dark even though they work on other rigs and from the SAME power supply from a working rig. Driving me on a very short trip to crazyland. It's like the PSU's are not powering the cards but I know they are fine, Everything I have swapped out works just fine on my other rigs. As a side note the best I can get on a rig is a combination on my first 4 rigs is up to 10 cards but know they work best at 8-9 cards total it seems on my other rigs so I know (I hope) we are doing everything right. It's just the last two Asrock boards I'm stuck at 4 cards each.  I also use Radeon RX580's in conjunction with the 1070's on other rigs but nothing can get me past the 4 card threshold on my last two Asrock boards.

They are running just perfect with 4 cards and are overclocked, (although strangely they both dropped 2nd card at almost same time). The other weird thing is before they dropped the 2nd card they both slowed down (same slot/card #2) from 28-29 Mh/s to 1.59 Mh/s before they just dropped the card in full. (Resetting the miner fixes this "problem" for a day or so.)

I'm sure its something simple but we are lost as to what's going on here. Or are they "bad" boards?

HELP, before I jump.  Grin

Floorcon,

Newer to mining here as well. I have three BTC+ boards and identical setups on each (11x1050ti cards). I have had two rigs (Rig 1 and 2) running for months with 11 cards without issue. I have had issues with Rig 3 since day one, trying to get all cards to run for a period of time. I can get up to 9 cards and run for a few hours until 6 of them drop off and the rig continues to run with only 3 cards.

It just to happens now both Rig 1 and Rig 2 started doing this same problem. I am trying all solutions and fear the same as you, they may be bad boards. Were you able to figure out your issues? Thank you.

I would fear bad boards unfortunately!!  I changed all my setups to 6 GPUs per board... period.  Life has become much easier.  I know, people say you are spending to much on equipment that way etc, but minimal down time and piece of mind are worth every penny.  Good luck guys.  Grin
