OK, here is how it goes down:

1. Mine a few Scamcoins that are listed on cryptsy
2. List these coins on cryptsy
3. With 2nd account, buy your own scamcoins to drive up price
4. Once people and bots jump onboard, price is rising
5. Dump all coins, sell for btc
6. If there is still movement in the market, buy back cheap and start with 3. again, else, keep BTC
7. start with 1. again

The moral of the story: If you are not the pump&dumper, don't play with shitcoins.

Most Alts on Cryptsy trade about 0.5 BTC/day, should be retitled:

"How To Make Less Than Minimum Wage Pumping And Dumping Scam Coins".

Why would you need a second account? It's not like there is the name of the buyer in the orderbook.

2. List these coins on cryptsy
3. With 2nd account, buy your own scamcoins to drive up price

Problems:

  • If you don't list your coins at the best price, you'll end up buying other people coins instead of your own.
  • Other people are quite likely to buy your best price coins before you can.

Actually, thinking about it this entire thread is incorrect.

Buying your own sell orders is a zero sum game. The price will not be permanently moved, it will move temporarily and then revert back to norms.

The only way to have price permanently move up is to place a huge buy order which consumes a bunch of price levels in the order-book. If you consume enough price-levels, the spread will narrow through other people's orders and the price will be moved.

But that doesn't really help you, since you'll then have a stock of coins you don't really want to sell at that price. Your only hope is that you buy enough price levels, that you excite the market, inducing a general uptrend which you can then ride to the top and sell. How many coins you need to buy to achieve this is going to be down to experimentation.

You might as well just play satoshi's dice, there is such a slim chance of those tactics actually working.

I'm willing to bet you 1BTC that you can't move the price even 50% using this technique.

Qualification: you will specify the coin, the exact time of your pump and dump and the amount of time needed to achieve 50% price rise in advance.
