Quote
A Polish Youtuber, with around one million subscribers, was paid circa $30,000 by the Central Bank of Poland, in collaboration with the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, to portray cryptocurrencies in a negative light without disclosing the payment in the video.

Marcin Dubiel, whose video “I lost all my money” has half a million views, portrays cryptocurrencies as a way to get rich quick, to only find out he had no money to pay for a date at a restaurant and was generally left penniless due to cryptocurrency investments.

The video’s description contains the hashtag #uważajnakryptowaluty, a website by Poland’s Central Bank and FCA which portrays digital currencies as risky, having no guarantee, and not classified as electronic money.

The Central Bank of Poland has admitted that “it carried out a campaign on the issue of virtual currencies in social media,” without providing any further comment on the matter.

Nor do they explain why their paid advertising was undisclosed in the video by Marcin Dubiel, who is just one among others who received such payments, including Planeta Faktów, a Youtube channel with 1.5 million subscribers.

Poland’s lack of access, in general, to English language information might make them especially susceptible to such propaganda

Lots of these former communist states are paranoid about maintaining control. Luckily the west is still open to new ideas.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

This is another example that explains the reason for the appearance of false negative information about the crypto currency, when bitcoin recently dropped to 6,000 dollars and it was obvious that the emergence of such negative information is not accidental, that the flow of it is organized by somebody and skillfully directed. Now it is obvious that banks took part in this, and not only Polish ones. Banks, of course, lose their profits because of the appearance of the crypto currency, and therefore are ready to finance a campaign to form a negative image of the population in the population. However, as we see, nothing happens to bankers. The bitcoin grows well over the past two weeks and it seems it will continue to grow.

looks like poland don't like cryptos, when they pay youtube to slander cryptos. the war between central banks against bitcoin has start. looks like more and more people realize what crypto is and have fear about this new, public system. then I'm looking forward to the next country, which also fights against bitcoin.

That's not surprising at all.We all know that banks, governments want to take down cryptocurrency and they will do everything to achieve that.
Do you think that FUD being spread by medias is neutral? Ofcourse they are paid to do it.People should learn to stop getting influenced from media, youtube, social networks.

Aha! That's a new kind of attack I came across. Bitcoin is constantly under attack by many big banks like JP Morgan, Lloyd, Tide etc. Also the investment tycoon Warren Buffet had spoken negative about bitcoin. Poland's central bank just joined the party and applied an innovative idea to discourage people from investing in crypto asset. Expect much more attack on even higher scale to come towards bitcoin in coming days because bitcoin and the entire crypto industry is a big threat to their business.

As per coinmarketcap, the market cap of entire crypto currency industry is 495 billion USD. If these cryptos did not exist, this amount of money would have flown into the banking channel. So it is a significant amount of business the banks are loosing and that is the reason why they are trying to discourage us. However, I am sure the actual crypto users will not be discouraged by such comments and videos, the only thing we needs to learn is graceful ignorance and bestow it to the FUD creators. More such things will come, but the profit makers already know what crypto is and what it can do! So some youtubers/bloggers will become rich in this process but no damage can be done for sure!

It is a war for money. Crypto stepped in their perfect corrupt world and it's threatening to destroy everything.
They can allow themselves dirty moves, because they can. And that's why I want to see their world fall.

There is no danger for people who done their research and understand crypto. We know where this is going.

I agree. I myself was surprise as to how social media turns anti bitcoin. So there are governments and banks willing to pay to spread false news and fear amongst crypto investors that's why the price suddenly plummeted.

Yes, it will continue to grow, but expect more attacks from banks as well. Those paid schills are really doing a good job to cast doubts in bitcoin and cryptos. You will also noticed around the forum that there are a lot of newbies also spreading likes that bitcoin will go to 0 or will die. Too many doom sayers.

What ever they do, they cannot stop the emergence of the trusted and transparent way of transactions and safekeeping of ones own wealth, not controlled by the government and other sectors such as bank. This is what people chose and what people thinks is right, revolutionizing the world and freeing themselves from slavery of those people who are controlling the banks. Kudos to the father of crypto for what he have done to us, giving us the opportunity to become our own banks.

More and more bash will come and this is nothing new, more tokens are created and even some are to dragged down Bitcoin's name but still it will never affect it's popularity. Let's show the banks that we no longer need them with remittance and high fees of sending cash to the other side of the world, we have our own way now and we will continue to deny them and move on to the tides where they are not needed anymore.

Of course that some people don't ike the idea of crypto but you can't stop it. They can try to manipulate with it and to slow the growth and adoption but they can not kill it. So when we look at it from the different perspective they are simply losing money by trying to spread FUD.

Do you know the adage: A bad advertising campaign is a free advertising campaign and it's better than nothing. It's a free promotion when people don't stop to talk about you, look at all the years mainstream media spent on bashing Bitcoin, it helped to spread the word.

Good or bad, it’s still publicity. Is the Polish government that desperate to resort to fake news? Cryptocurrency is here to stay and no amount of paid trolls can stop the bitcoin juggernaut.

That's just disgusting, especially the fact that even the PFOC was also involved in it, I can only imagine how threatened the Polish govt must've felt about cryptocurrencies that they had to resort to spread propaganda on youtube...pathetic.
But honestly, i'm not surprised by this news since most of the Central Banks around the world only care about two things: keeping their 'ponzi fiat' safe, and keeping their customers under control so that they don't put their savings outside the system, and they'll do anything to stop cryptocurrencies from disrupting their businesses.

Anyways, if anyone watches one of those "cryptocurrency videos", take it with a grain of salt.

Poland is a former communist country, and is clearly worried about the threats to their currency (the zloty).

Lots of these former communist countries are completely paranoid and feel that anything that loosens their control is bad. They are going to feel so stupid when mass adoption of crypto happens.

A lot of weak bank institutions with weak government oversight will always abuse their power. A lot of right-wing governments have a problem with too much executive power.

Yeah wow, I can't believe they would resort to youtubers to slander it. A lot of the governments are very scared about crypto, in countries where the currency is already unstable this is especially the case because they are concerned about outflows.

I just wonder why does the Poland hate cryptocurrency? Afterall, I expected that all of European countries are in favor of cryptocurrency. Well, I think there is in depth reason behind the scenario. I just thinking that the government thinks that cryptocurrency is a big threat to their economy.

I don't understand why the governments have a problem with the use of cryptocurrency, many countries are trying to stop cryptocurrency use. Talk about communist ☭ countries they are a bit paranoid when it comes to their policies. But u guess Poland and even Russia are no more communist states anymore.

That's just disgusting, especially the fact that even the PFOC was also involved in it, I can only imagine how threatened the Polish govt must've felt about cryptocurrencies that they had to resort to spread propaganda on youtube...pathetic.

Poland is a former communist country, and is clearly worried about the threats to their currency (the zloty).

Lots of these former communist countries are completely paranoid and feel that anything that loosens their control is bad. They are going to feel so stupid when mass adoption of crypto happens.

That's what we called it greed people who leaded the country, and due to their anxiety of the threat of crypto currency to their economy they're spreading fake news using paid advertisers. Most of those communist countries really have aggressive controls of their people, how much more with crypto currency now they now considered it as their enemy towards the growth of the economy particularly the central bank. Despite of the tight contol of poland's governance behind those legalities people were still eager to deal with crypto currency investments, and I think the fake news that slanders cryptos isn't their fears to stop their interests.
