It's a way to make an ICO known amongst community. Mostly you get free tokens or a stake to spread the word and incentivize other people to take part in the ICO.

Hello there mate! So before I answer your question let me just welcome you to the forum  Cheesy So anyway, Airdrop campaigns is one way on how you get coins/tokens. Every Airdrop campaign is different as well but they have some things in common. This is one way for ICOs to introduce their project and reach out to their target market. So when I say that every Airdrop is different because of course it will depend on the project itself, but most of it will require you to do a few simple things.

Most Airdrops that I know of will ask you to

1. Sign up on their website, and yes simple sign ups will let you earn a few of their coins(if they have one, it is a plus as well if they do and most legit ICO projects do have their own sites)
2. Invite friends or the referral links(be careful where you post one here though, I think they're strict with referral links  Grin)
3. Join a Telegram or Discord group(some will require you to be active and some don't so just make sure to double check the rules)
4. Some might ask you to follow their social media accounts like Twitter, Facebook, IG, Medium and more. Those I mentioned are the most common ones(It is helpful if you do, there might be important announcements)

So yeah, basically those I have listed here are the most common tasks that you might be doing once you join an Airdrop. If you're interested in joining one there are a lot of Telegram groups that are announcing or giving out links to ongoing Airdrops, you might stumble upon one if you just go through the forum. It's nice to read or check posts that gets your attention once in a while, it really helps a lot. And when you find something interesting or things related to your question here and I might not know about it yet, please do post it here so that I can read about it. I have so many things to learn myself as well. Anyway, hope this helps and once again welcome and good luck with your endeavors. Have a great day mate!  Cheesy

Thanks. I've always ignored Airdrop campaigns. It seemed like a proposition where you would spend hours promoting an unknown coin and be paid pennies in return.

You made it sound like an interesting way to find out about new ideas as opposed to "ooooh" I just made 10,000 sh!tcoin.

I agree with this idea. However, for someone who is new to crypto and is still learning; the required steps to gain merits on this board seem a little steep. I would love to be part of the community and to contribute to the discussions, but because I am new; I have not gained the knowledge to respond in an educated manner to ,many of the posts. Therefore I'm not going to put some bullshit up there just so I can merits. There needs to be a better way to do this.
Im open to suggestions

thank you

Airdrop campaign, I would call it a bounty campaign. You get some reward from the provider of the given bounty, part of the coins or tokens.
And how to get involved is always a condition for meeting the conditions. Overall, bounties are a very good way to get coins for us as a community.

airdrop is generally a give away free coin for very small task, like follow/retweet 1 tweet, be prepared a lot of them are scam to steal your data and maybe some money if you donate to wrong eth address

Rule n 1 never join an airdrop if require a donation!
Rule n 2 never post anywhere your private key, if they have it they can steal money

You can find airdrops here looking on 3Ds here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0, pay attention on those 2 rules.
Some airdriops are really easy like join telegram follow twitter etc, others are more complex and you need to to tasks to be rewarded!

in itself, an airdrop is the free delivery of coins from a project and many ask for few requirements, such as follow them on twitter or facebook ask for your portfolio address and your email, and ready, but very alert when they ask for deposits that already gives understand that it is a scam,
and when they ask for private keys it is an alarm to you to move away and do not deliver anything, very aware of that.

airdrops are free altcoin giveaways.
there seems to be more than a handful these days.
you should scan any altcoin wallet for virus.

When a new coin is being launched, some companies decide to giveaway some tokens for free to the community.
Members do not need to pay for the tokens but there could be some tasks involved (like subscribing to their newsletter, following them on social media, etc) which the recipient needs to complete to be eligible for receiving free tokens.

It's one of the simplest ways to earn, you have to share information in social media, telegram chats, make discussions with other users about projects. For your job, you'll get tokens, crypto or in some cases fiat. Its a good possibility for students to earn, but you need to choose carefully ICO projects, cause most of them are scam.

In bounty campaign you will be receiving tokens when you are completing the task by following all the terms and conditions or else you will not be paid, but in airdrop campaign coins are free you are supposed to subscribe through some social media or join their whitelist.

A crypto airdrop is when a blockchain project distributes free tokens or coins to the crypto community. To participate, the only requirement is that you have coins from the relevant blockchain stored in your wallet. Free coins are given out so that the project creates awareness about their ICO or token.
