You already know that it is impossible to predict the price accurately and that many forecasts that people can not take as something guaranteed, so we have to make assumptions about the possible price increases we had last year, my guess is that in the year past people will be very motivated because of japan, segwit, hard fork and futures... now we have a hard fork coming and the price has also increased and the alticoins are probably being sold to buy bitcoin because of the hard fork and this leads me believe that every time we have good news people sell their altcoins to buy bitcoin and the price of bitcoin goes up very temporarily. If we have good news, then the price will increase, if we do not have good news then the price will be stable.

So hard to say that we are in bull run again, I don't want to assume as things aren't fix yet and bitcoin isn't back to $15,000.

May I asked the question why are people here are obsessed with $20,000?

It doesn't matter how many people here predict the market to reach whatever levels. What matters is how SegWit is going to perform during a massive spike in usage that remains for weeks non stop.

The next core client that will soon come out, by default allows SegWit address generation, which should give Bitcoin the short term boost that it needs to provide people much lower fees during usage peaks.

If reality turns out that this is indeed the case, it will actually justify the price to approach previous all time high levels again. If not, and LN still remains beta, I don't see why the price should break $20,000 at all.

It would mean that in comparison to the situation in December of last year, nothing has changed at all.

2018 is going to be a hard year for all crypto coins. Bitcoin is going to push to 20000 usd in 2018 but the main point is if its going to hold over 20.000 usd by the end of the year.

We do not really know how high can Bitcoin go. All we are hoping is the fact that the prices of Bitcoin and other Alternate Coins stabilize. If people starts supporting Bitcoin and promotes it properly in a way it becomes useful for users.

Yeah, moreover since the market can decide to take any turn it likes at any moment in time. If over time, we get to see bitcoin breaks the downtrend line, we may end up having a confirmed reversal, but for now, nothing is guaranteed. Even after the confirmed reversal, nothing is still guaranteed as bitcoin can decide to keep going sideways for months and even years. However, who cares, the most important thing is the future and that is why holding feels a whole lot better.

Bitcoin has always shown a great sign of strength with its come backs but no one can predict anything based on what OP is asking but when the time comes and the price ends up hitting that point, we will all know but every long term holder should only try as much as possible to focus on the future and not now.

Talking about that its still unpredictable, however it is possible. Upon reaching $20,000 many says analysts, experts that it will be more than that. Im not going to be sure about it i will just wait for it to happen. Looking at the chart it is another way around to dip before it goes up a bearish trend for now.

Yes it can, provided that the interest and demand of people continues to grow. We have seen how cryptocurrencies had bloom last year that invited lots of investors to pour in their money in bitcoin until it went down from mid of December until February. But as we can see, bitcoin has responded well and rises back to 11K USD which is a good indication that bitcoin has still something to give and can still dominate in times when everything seems so hopeless.

IMO $ 20k figure in 2018 will definitely be achieved. but, with a note we have to pump. seeing this situation is pretty difficult to achieve it in the near future.

This is possible if there are lot more development that will going to happen in the coming days in favor of Bitcoin.Base on this current market trend i could say that the Bitcoin current progress is good in which it shows that there is really a significant increase in the value that if this will continue for sure Bitcoin price value will reach the $20,000 again or more within this year.

I think that 20000$ is totally reachable. But if it doesn't happen, I expect at least that BTC will recover at 15000$, just like last year. Not less.

i believe that is completely possible for bitcoin to reach 20000$ in this year, bitcoin price rightnow is 11000$, and still a long way to go and many pumps ahead, rightnow bitcoin is on the recovery, it may takes few months but mid 2018 is the months for big pumps, we just have to wait a little longer to see will bitcoin rise more and more in the future.
