I should suggest for investing 50% to both BTC and ETH as these two are the biggest cryptocurrency right now and risks are lower. Bitcoin is the mother of all crypto and Altcoin price is ruled by bitcoin trend. Even though for now it has a lower value I am looking forward that it has a future like bitcoin and it will rise soon more though It's present value is 1 ETH= 960 $ . Real money is issued, printed and controlled by government of respective country and government but bitcoin is completely different because it is neither printed nor issued by any central government.

You should stick with the portfolio you have already researched on. Bitcoin is a little bit quite expensive and with the funds you have you wont be able to gain much by buying bitcoin. i would advise you buy also litecoin. i think it also has a great future

If you want to minimize risks it would be more professional to invest in different coins and altcoins, not only in BTC or ETH. Analyze the market,  values, schedules and after that make a design which one will be more  profitable. Also you can invest some part of your capital in trading (no more than 5%) and trade altcoins or coins as you wish, it will give you more opportunities to visual analyse in real time. Good luck

I think now the entire cryptocurrency market is a bear market,so may not be a good investment opportunity, you should hold the hands of the money, wait for the arrival of a bear market, considering buying some altcoin.

It's a high risk for you because you are intend to invest $100K which is really high.I think you should be conscious upon any decision.BTC price is high At the moment. And it will sure increase in future. So I think you should invest in btc obviously because you have a good capital. In altcoin area I think you should buy some promising and reliable coin like ETH,XRP,DOGE,MONERO etc.I like these coin because these always gives me good profit.Good luck.

100K is a solid start point, I would invest 30% in BTC 30% in ETH, and 60% spread between alts.

Such a cool start! Suppose that you know already pretty much about the market of crypto. I would use 40% of my funds into Bitcoins, 30% into ETH and 30% into other altcoins such as NEO, EOS, Cardano, Qtum.

Don't follow anyone, Just equip your knowledge. In crypto, who know information first, they win. Advice just for referring not follow. In my opinion, ETH & BTC are safe to invest but profit is low, and altcoin, you should choose a good coin, such as cyber, quantstamp. It'll make big profit for you. How to choose good coin, Learn... Hi, I am from taiwan and I have been introduced by a colleague to bitcointalk to learn more about cryptocurrencies.

I intend to start my portfolio with $100k and work my way up. I am managing a small private fund which usually invest into equities

but we are now interested in crypto.

Me and my team's initial research tells us to buy ETH, NEO, Monero, Dash, IOTA, Lisk and Tron.

Anyone here working in a fund house? Any inputs?

MingNa
I am not doing that but I think I will buy in more btc and lisk which I think are promising.

In my opinion, you should diversify your investment portfolio and buy bitcoin, ETH and other altcoins. With the 30 percent of your fund you can buy bitcoin, other 30 percent buy Ethereum and with the rest of the fund you should buy 15 or 20 other altcoins.

This is really a good advice. Especially when we are talking about such siginificant amount of money like 100000USD. It is necessary to put this money in different places because cryptocurrency market is very unstable.

I have always been a supporter of portfolio diversification. I would spend the third part on bitcoin, the third part for other classical currencies, including the air, and a third for alternative currencies

First of all i would not have risked investing so much amount in the VIRTUAL CURRENCIES  at one go would have invested in small tranches spread over time . Now to answer  your question you should invest majorly  in top three  BTC, ETH , Ripple .  Investment  split  being  55 % BTC, 25 % ETH, 5 % Ripple , 5% Monero/Dash/IOT/Electroneum
10%  in good ICOs  ( invest only after research avoid being scamed)

I would divide this sum into three parts and invest in different coins. The largest part (50%) I would invest in the most important coin - Bitcoin. Another 20%  in ETH because I think this coin is very promising. The rest I would invest in different alts.

Owning such sum of money it is better for me to put the funds into real estate. Cryptocurrencies are very volatile, unstable and unpredictable. This is very risky to invest in it big amounts of money.

You can invest to all mentions to spread your money. In that case you have the big opportunities not to lose everything. Ofcourse you need to invest some to bitcoin for making your future much clearer.

As for me, I have some other point of view. Invest 30% to Bitcoin, 25% to Ethereum and the rest 45% of your 100 thousand should be invested into other altcoins. I’d recommend NEO, Monero and Cardano.

it is more difficult to get more risk, but if you take the risk, you earn as much as you both can, I think they both are popular and they do not go down a certain level. They have a lot of stability but they can invest in other altcoins

You intend to enter into Crypto world with high capital,i would suggest you to split your capital into multiple coins. You should Invest 50% of your capital into BTC,30% into ETH & 20% into other coins like XRP,LTC,ADA,NEO,Monero.Your Investing strategies should be like this.
1.Currently prices are low good for your for long term Invest in BTC,ETH hold it when the price increase sell it increase your return.
2.For short term trading you should choose XPR,LTC,ADA,NEO,Monero,Dash etc, these are good growing coins and prices are low these days, make investment on daily basis, proceeds your earn reinvest that into BTC & ETH to increase higher level of return.

Wow, that's huge capital you have.First of all, you should buy BTC obviously.Because btc price is always increasing and so it will give you good profits.Secondly, you should buy ETH, because ETH price is less than BTC but price always increasing like BTC.Thirdly, you have to very conscious for other coin to buy.I will choose Monero, ripple and doge.Because I find them promising and reliable.

Always reserve some btc to future trading. Split your btc to eth and few of altcoins.
If your altcoin prices goes down add some more to average down your price.
