Bitcoin Crashes My Wireless

Every time I run bitcoin, my wireless connection crashes.  I have a USB wireless key fob.  What I have found is that I have to pull it out and stick it back in to reset it, and my wireless comes back on.  All other internet connections work when I don't run bitcoin.  When I play StarCraft online it works.  When I surf the net or run mining software (poclbm's version) my wireless connection works.

However, when I start up the bitcoin client after a few minutes the wireless connection fails.  Weird.  I am wondering if it has to do with all of those connections.

I get the same and I'm pretty sure its down to the huge amount of connections bitcoin uses.

To fix it simple run bitcoin with -maxconnections=15 or how ever many connections you feel your wireless can handle.

Do you have the latest drivers installed for it? I've had problems like this in the past especially on laptops, but those were usually resolved by upgrading.

I believe this is the reason for bitcoin often pinwheeling on OS X as well

If this happens with a regular wifi router, check the logs on the device. It may be triggering its firewall, some routers have a dumb feature that will cause your entire connection to drop if too many unACKd SYNs are pending.

I put it on -nolisten and the bitcoin client works.  However, I think this will be problem for many users and if I have this issue then many more others may not be able to get their bitcoin client running.  I checked my router logs but I don't know enough to debug it.   I hope this issue is fixed.
