This Merit System became an issue these days. Maybe, in general this Merit System takes this forum away from those trolls and shitposters. However, it seems impossible to have hundreds of Merit given by a nice man to ranked up.

If there is no individuals who are responsible for giving Merit, therefore the Merits that we had today are just circulating to us. On the other hand, to ranked up is very hard to achieve or impossible to achieve either.

Those Juniors will still be Juniors, Seniors will still be Seniors and same apply to others. If we look on it, there is no one who waste their time looking for those quality and constructive posts just to give his/her Merit, impossible.

To end this;

I suggest that there should be individuals that will give Merits like those who give green and red trust (Dt's).

Oh $DEITY, another ignorant complaint about the merit system.

It’s not at all ‘impossible’ to rank up if you post something useful even once in a blue moon. Look at my merit history. I’m new here but I get an average of several merits a week. I’m sure that by spending one hour per day, I could get enough merits to rank up as fast as the activity constraints allow.

And guess what: there are people who give out merits, just as you propose. They are called merit sources. You would have known that had you read theymos’s post announcing the merit system.

$DEITY = "Vod";

Vod read.  That post contained no useful information at all.  Suggestion has already been implemented.

Honestly, In the first period I was critical of this update, but now my opinion is completely changed and the truth that the merit system is going well and everyone must accept that change, but the problem is the majority of members are accustomed to rank easily, so everyone must deal with this update  and  all people should stop complaining . On the other hand , we should  give more effort to get merit points .

I think the system is fair enough to the people who want it the most, and thats all that really matters.. With this many established users and level of activity on these forums, the question then becomes is it better for the forum's ecosystem to have 100-1000 more quality people per year or 10,000+ spam accounts spam farming for rank ups.. I experienced this first hand when I joined in October and instantly left the forum because I couldn't deal with the levels of pointless spam.. and now every post has people trying to post the best responses to people's questions and almost to a degree over helping.. and that's what the system provides.... you're not only trying to rank up yourself.. but you're also setting an example to those you are helping of how to rank up themselves..  I think the only way the system is unfair (and this is probably biased) is I think the merit system is actually easier to achieve for a new user over Activity.. if merit is the gold standard for what seperates a good poster from not, then why does activity also have to be an inhibiting factor?  Anyways, either way like most things in life.. you either complain about the rules or make them work for you.. I've never once really complained my way to being successful in anything.

You need 60 activity to reach member rank, that is 2 months of posting.
Post each day one nice, constructive, interesting post and you will reach enough merits to rank up to member rank(and maybe you will get enough merit for full member rank). Same goes for other ranks(more or less).

So, don't post things like this if you want merit:

ICO is the crypto who made me a strong person and makes me confident whatever I do. Since the beginning when I start joining in crypto world I was very thankful because it's very useful for me and even if there so many negative comment about ICO but still my heart and presence is in ICO.

And don't complain and rant about merit because everyone will put you on ignore and then you will never get merits.

Thankfully I had Hero status before these changes, otherwise I would be looking at an insane mountain to climb. I accept that I'll probably never reach Legendary with the new requirements, as if it wasn't hard enough in the old system. They still kept the randomness to it and just added a bunch of other requirements that are seemingly also somewhat random  Grin

The merit system is not fair.  I will list a few reasons.

-Buying and selling of merit is still going on
=People are giving merit to friends
- People with a ton of merit are not even bothering to award it
-no merit sources in certain sections of the forum and certain language boards.
-its elitist

merit system is a renewal by bitcoin forum to eliminate spam and so forth. by way of "each member must have a specified merit if you want the account to go up"

how to get merit is very unclear because it is still waiting for someone's judgment regarding the post that we make quality or not.

It is not impossible to get hundreds of merit since a particular user already achieved that one. Well if you look at nullius a member rank with 435 merits all hard earned merit since he's a god in posting quality post. I learned alot while reading his post and become my inspiration not to be down and strive harder to achieve higher level of knowledge regarding crypto.

Does Merit System Fair to everyone?
yes, it works as intended eventhough not as perfect as theymos wanted

If there is no individuals who are responsible for giving Merit, therefore the Merits that we had today are just circulating to us.

there are already a few users selected by theymos that fit your description, they are called "Merit sources"

The merit system is not fair.  I will list a few reasons.

I am not satisfied with such posts of yours using i instead of I. And calling merit system as "Merti system", just made things worse for you.

Might not be fair in the way that Darwinism isn't fair, but it keeps whiny bitches like you from ranking up, and that's kind of a cool feature.  You people who posted here don't realize how bad your posts are--and you never will, not even if it's pointed out to you in big, bold, 96-point flasing italic font.

So you'll keep writing how "we need to educate ourselves to make more profit because bitcoin change our life" and all that blah blah blah.

Users who have sMerit to give recognize those types of shitposts immediately--and those posts won't ever get merit.  Stop acting like retarded monkeys at the keyboard and maybe you'll have a shot.

Its unfair to somebody, there are people who have wonderful ideas but does not given merits, Aside from that, only few people in the forum, active in giving free merits, some are not, This makes the participants will experience hard time to rank up.
Hopefully everybody shall participate and motivate everybody to give merits to those who exert effort without biased.

This Merit System became an issue these days.

This Merit system is issue for spammers and bounty hunters. Most people like to rank up their accounts for bounties without doing quality posts. That's why bitcointalk changed rules. I have seen newbies also earned lot of Merit.

Merit is always fair, every new implemented rules which was made is always good. The only problem is a person that can be trusted to deliver the new system fairly.

It is not an issue for people who contribute to the forum and those who are not coming to this forum simply enticed by the smell of "free cash and free bitcoin" which is widespread in the internet (read dust faucets).

If you have contributed to the forum and have helped people out I am sure they will have merited you at some point of time or the other. Dont come here simply running after bounties and all. Join the discussions and gradually you will see your merits increase when people start to appreciate your contributions.

i think merit is fair to everyone. We cannot judge them by making this merit maybe this the observation of the bicoin so that we will make a quality post not just a practical post only without basis and be productive, with sense not just to post only to add to our profile list is enough. so we most check our post sometime if our post is good and constractive and help to the people that read our post. and become solution in raising question or discussion.
