Accredited Investors in the U.S.

Hi All, I want to participate in an ICO and I am from the U.S.

If I make less than 200,000 but can obtain a document that says I did (don't ask how).... is there any way I can get in trouble later about participating in the ICO?  Or, once I get the coins, it's all ok?
