PrivateSend Basics
PrivateSend gives you true financial privacy by obscuring the origins of your funds. All the Virtus in your wallet is comprised of different "inputs" which you can think of as separate, discrete coins. PrivateSend uses an innovative process to mix your inputs with the inputs of two other people, without having your coins ever leave your wallet. You retain control of your money at all times.

The PrivateSend process works like this:

PrivateSend begins by breaking your transaction inputs down into standard denominations. These denominations are 0.01 VRT, 0.1 VRT, 1 VRTand 10 VRT  - sort of like the paper money you use every day.
Your wallet then sends requests to specially configured software nodes on the network, called "masternodes". These masternodes are informed then that you are interested in mixing a certain denomination. No identifiable information is sent to the masternodes, so they never know "who" you are.
When two other people send similar messages, indicating that they wish to mix the same denomination, a mixing session begins. The masternode mixes up the inputs and instructs all three users' wallets to pay the now-transformed input back to themselves. Your wallet pays that denomination directly to itself, but in a different address (called a change address).
In order to fully obscure your funds, your wallet must repeat this process a number of times with each denomination. Each time the process is completed, it's called a "round." Each round of PrivateSend makes it exponentially more difficult to determine where your funds originated.
This mixing process happens in the background without any intervention on your part. When you wish to make a transaction, your funds will already be anonymized. No additional waiting is required.
IMPORTANT: Your wallet only contains 1000 of these "change addresses." Every time a mixing event happens, one of your addresses is used up. Once enough of them are used, your wallet must create more addresses. It can only do this, however, if you have automatic backups enabled. Consequently, users who have backups disabled will also have PrivateSend disabled.

Nice option in privatesend. But it looks like it needs similar users with wallets in order to hide all of them.

We have launched several own nodes with PrivateSend enabled, so any user can always get anonymous VRT

2 - an overabundance of Virtus coins. There is also the issue of having excess rewarded that exceed the need of investors, so many "extra" coins appear on the exchange. There is no balance of supply and demand.

Following the main goal - to make Virtus a valuable coin - There is a need to change the economic model of the project.

Namely:

- the cost of the masternode will be increased to 25,000 coins
- the block rewards will be decrease to 10 VRT
- the total number of coins will become 18.000.000 VRT

A mandatory update will be required on Sunday 01 April 2018 at 08.00 AM UTC.

Kind of unfortunate that a masternode requires 5x of what it was before. Kinda crazy no?

You will have to collect 20k more for the masternodes unforunately. However, your coins now are worth A LOT more.

At what point does that happen? All of my masternodes are still collecting VRT, there's still about as many masternodes as there was all weekend

Also, don't just assume the coins are worth a lot more, just because there's "less" supply doesn't mean there's going to automatically be demand, the coins are still worth what someone is willing to pay for them, and unfortunately for this, that isn't very much. There's still no white paper and the biggest highlight on the webpage is "tiered masternodes," still not really a clear "use" for the coin....

Also, don't just assume the coins are worth a lot more, just because there's "less" supply doesn't mean there's going to automatically be demand, the coins are still worth what someone is willing to pay for them, and unfortunately for this, that isn't very much. I think they will be invalid very soon. Doublecheck discord though. The most obvious use is that this is a privacy coin that allows mixing.

Just updated for myself. Looks like there are no UI changes so it is just on the backend. Price is going up though.
