It is a pity that I can not move to Uzbekistan. It's good that at least someone says good news and supports, but does not prohibit. I would be glad to legalize, because I do not feel comfortable now, when legally the issue is not solved (in my country at least). I need to study more about countries that legalize bitcoins and cryptocurrencies.

Yes well sooner or later crypto will step in. But lets face it crypto is nightmare for adopting. Several hundred years of one system could be changed with another one that exists only 10 years and it is created by ordinary people with brain power.

I would struggle to believe in any government that bans cryptocurrency. There is no need, it doesn't need to threaten the national currency, it can supplement or even improve it. I would assume I am living in a dictatorship if my country banned crypto, that would be cause for rebellion.

This one is from Central Asia: Uzbekistan Legalizes Cryptocurrency

Surely this is good news for all those who have wrestled and helped the development of bitcoin around the world, and I really hope with this news, later countries that have not legalized bitcoin can legalize bitcoin to help the economy of a very weak country, with the good news this, everyone hopes with what i expect from the past ...

"Each fruit has its time", I have no doubts that the number of countries that are loyal to the crypto will significantly increase by the end of 2018.

Already this year, by September 1, a bill that legalizes Bitcoin and other digital currencies in the country will be prepared.

So it's not happened yet and won't happen for another 6-7 months. Also saying that they'll legalize it implies that it was previously illegal, is that the case?

Quote
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the creation of a competence center for distributed registry technologies at the Mirzo Innovation Center Innovation Center.

Its main tasks will be the formation of conditions for using the capabilities of blockchain, increasing the human resources potential and supporting domestic developers in mastering this technology. It is planned that this structure will work as early as June 1, 2018.

I think that this is bigger news than just legalizing cryptocurrencies. They are going to actively explore its uses and that can only grow interest and support. Hopefully some larger countries can follow their lead.

Now that's the great news,at last another country can see the true potential of bitcoin or other cryptocurrency. The support that will be given will surely affect the growth for crypto. If they would succeed then i bet other countries will follow thier move, hopefully.

You can't run from cryptocurrencies so good step is to legalize it and try to regulate some aspects of it. Another thing is to see it as illegal but then you will have to fight it and today with ability to buy goods for crypto online you can use crypto for that. I mean you can't stop this thing. Really bullish news

It is the second Post-Soviet country that made such a step, the first one was Belarus.

They are not still late in learning the technology, brilliant idea and move of the president of Uzbekistan to financially and morally supports their developers and scientist to study Blockchain.
It's just a matter of time before the world will adopt this technology, this is what I like to see and read in the thread, not the one who is saying rubbish and spreading negativity in the community. Kudos Mr. President  Shocked!
I wish more countries to follow what this leader have done. I am envious to their country not like mine full of corruption and criminal activities(mostly are government officials)

Is it me or?

Guys, did you read the article and see something inside talking about the country legalizing cryptocurrencies?
I think the title is misleading if you read the article the point is their president "approved the creation of a competence center for distributed registry technologies at the Mirzo Innovation Center Innovation Center. Its main tasks will be the formation of conditions for using the capabilities of blockchain, increasing the human resources potential and supporting domestic developers in mastering this technology"

The only reference to cryptos is "Earlier, the representatives of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan negatively spoke in relation to virtual money, calling them an instrument for financing terrorism."

Nope, it's not just you.
The first phrase is the author drawing a conclusion, with  nothing backing it from the main article

The real deal is this:
Quote
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the creation of a competence center for distributed registry technologies at the Mirzo Innovation Center Innovation Center.

There is not a single mention of bitcoin, or cryptocoins just distributed technologies or legality of those.
Just a center for studies.

Also:
Quote
Its main tasks will be the formation of conditions for using the capabilities of blockchain, increasing the human resources potential and supporting domestic developers in mastering this technology. It is planned that this structure will work as early as June 1, 2018.

So this "formation of conditions " analyzer or whatever it means will start working in around 16 months.

Nope, it's pure clickbait.

Well, may be this bill that legalizes crypto was ready by September, but signed by government only now?

Bro, it's February!!!!!!
The article is just a poorly written piece of trash.

Good to hear. Countries start picking up cryptocurrency and legalize them. I still haven't get a clear picture of what activities will be allowed after the bill get passed. Will they allow everybody to make a transaction using cryptocurrency? Or are people only allowed to trade them as a property? Kinda sad that not everybody is on the same page, like their central bank guy who said virtual money is a tool to finance terrorism. Will they become cooperative after this?

With Belarus, no tax for cryptocurrencies is real but I found something wrong with the thread, the website OP gave looks like copying cointelegraph.

Given that they legalizes bitcoin. As long as they have alot of talented developers they will create coins that is something useful in the future. Consider it has a long journey of success. They will help other neighboring countries especially from Asia.

this is a step forward for the state that legalizes cryptocurrency, I'm sure this will bring a good impact for the economy of the country, with cryptocurrency then everyone is likely to improve their welfare, hopefully other countries soon follow Uzbekistan.

good news from the usual and this is interesting. and hopefully other countries follow it, because there are still many countries that have not legalized bitcoin like in my country. this situation is less fun but I do not think it is possible to legal.
