Let say you want to sell someone some btc.  But you want them to send the btc to your exchange account btc address whether its bittrex, binance or other exchange accounts.  Is that generally safe or not?

The other thing is i know with bittrex/binance, they give you the btc address to send btc to.  But could you generate a new btc address?  If so, would there be any conflict with any btc you already have in that bittrex/binance address?

it doesn't make any difference. it is a bitcoin address which is receiving some funds. whether you created it or the exchange doesn't change anything about that. the only thing different is that the exchange will have control over that address (the private keys of it) so they control the funds not you.

about your other question, not all exchanges allow you to generate a new address. so you will be stuck with only one forever. some others do. exchanges that I have seed do this are C-cex and Yobit. there may be more but I have not used any that allows this.

You can easily send BTC on exchange account there is no problem in that
as for the second question it depends if exchange is supporting multiaddressing
some are supporting, some are not supporting

Just like the earlier poster has said it just like using a wallet that you own that generates address as you want but in this case its being generated for and there is always a connection that any fund sent to that particular address is shown in your profile and no one else. The only concern here is you might not be able to use that same address for a long time because, that same address that is being generated for you, might have been used by someone else at some time and after you, it will be assigned to someone else. You can confirm this when you check the address on the blockchain.

On the other question, each wallet is assigned to your profile which can generate a new wallet the moment you dont want that wallet you can generate another address but on the same wallet.

Of course it is very safe to give your exchange btc address as long as you don't give them your passwords and the 2FA of your account has been enabled for security purposes. If you generate new btc address in the exchange site, yoir old address will be gone but the btc will remain in your wallet there.

Yes you are safe with the BTC address generated form the exchangers because they also work on the same principle of the blockchain as the wallet would ddo. The only thing is in exchange you can create different token address so the only care must be taken that you are generating the BTC address only and sending the BTC to that address and no other currency.

In addition to this you can create as many address as you want and there wont be any conflict. However do no send fund to old address as that might not able to receive the coins as per exchanger rules. Read the FAQ for better understanding of individual exchangers.

Yes, it's safe that you'll give your exchange bitcoin wallet address so that you can receive your btc there directly.
But could you generate a new btc address?
AFAIK, exchange bitcoin wallet addresses are only one and there's no way to create / generate a new bitcoin address or I'm missing some exchange that does have that feature.

of course it's safe, it's just a btc adress you can give it to anyone who are willing to send you btc. The only thing that you should keep safe are your password and your private key if you have a wallet

There is no problem as long as your address is correct, do not worry that the two exchanges are safe and reliable.
send BTC only takes a few minutes but for fee may be different.

Poloniex quite an old stock exchange, for all the time of its existence it has very well established itself. Bitcoin-startup Circle has acquired Kriptovaljutnuju Exchange Poloniex and soon will be available USD and euro.
