Hi guys, been lurking a while thought id bite the bullet and join. I have been mining since November 2017 - so still new to the game.

I have 2 mining rigs 1 is 4x 1080TI (was gaming Rig - was going to expand but prices gone mad!) and 2nd rig is 5x Asus 570 Expeditions OC 4gb + 2 x Nvidia 1080.
For now im just using nicehash to Mine.

Problem i have is 2 of the Asus 570's seem to be locked to default bios/clocks.

2 of the other 3 i have used annoraks OC custom rom and now get 29MH for about 95W
1 Card i have used the 1 click bios (think the trimmings are too tight for the OC rom) and get 28MH

But the other 2 cards, no matter how little a change 1MHz in Mem frequency or 1 Mhz in GOU frequency in Bios the card fails in the miner i get a driver stuck in thread then BSOD.

Also Card 0 which is running at 28MH in the miner application (claymore 10.8 i believe? using Nicehash legacy 1.8.Cool it shows as 28MH but it will then drop to 5MH or 6MH and will also drop speed on the 2nd algo from 850 down to 150. I have tried with stock rom, modded rom, no OC but the result is the same - is that a problem with the card or is the mining software reporting the rate wrong? Just concerned over a minute it does it maybe 10-15 times? over the course of the day that's a decent drop in speed! - I have already swapped out riser and cables.

Currently all the AMD cards give a combined rate when duel mining eth & decred of 130 which is ok but knowing that it could be 145-150 is bugging me!

In GPU-z every single card shows the same memory same version same everything there is no difference shown at all - checked line for line.

Any help appreciated -  have posted on many forums with no luck Sad

Thanks in advance

Gaz

Cracked one of the problems.

Incase its any help to anybody if the primary GPU hash rate is all over the place ensure windows is not using it as a primary display, forced it to use on board now its a solid 28MH.

Still struggling with the 2 cards that seem locked...

I know this isn't exactly the advice you were looking for but I would honestly sell the 570's, because there current price is extremely high and invest that money into a 2nd 1080ti. The 570s days are numbered but the 1080ti will be a good investment for the future. If you sign up for the alerts on nowinstock you can snag another 1080ti for $800-$900 and you could potentially sell the 570s for $300+ a piece. Just a thought.

Yes i was thinking the same - only concern i have is it ending up with a miner who has the same issue and then needs a refund and i ended covering fees etc..
Tempted to RMA them only had them 4 weeks - wonder if the store would give me store credit at least and can swap for 1080.. 1080ti

You said you were using nicehash, but have you tried a different miner? Also im assuming your mining on windows, but possibly load something like ETHos on a flash drive and boot that up and see if they work on that. Just throwing out some ideas to try and isolate the problem.

I also had really weird problem with asus rx570 expedition
this is very unstable card, I've flashed it with bios from anorak, but card is not working stable
it could crash in one hour after start. or in 5 minutes. or in a day.
sold it and forgot it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, 3 out of 5 are running at 29.700MH in nice hash.
Have tried the other 2 in XMR stack same issue...

They seem only capable of 22MH but ive turned the core down ok - down seems ok anything over the stock 1250 crash.
After turning them down the power drop is fairly noticeable.

The whole system was using 1400W now its at 1020-1050 obviously thats not just from tweaking those 2 cards i was tweaking the NVidia cards too - feel a bit better that Daily BTC is the same but knocked nearly 300W down.

GPUz showing 75W for those 2 cards.. Core is at 900 still running 22MH - lower than 900 = Crash - seems to be the sweet spot.

I think im still leaning towards selling - profit calc show just a 1080 non TI will be same profit as 2x570 for more or less same price... i could over time and more cards to my rig then and get more hash overall...

Hi Guys, if it helps anybody...got the rig running at same speeds but only using 850W now - thats 1/3 decrease - £30-35

Those 2 cards that are playing up i have running stock clock (otherwise a crash) but only 650Mv on core and memory

Others are running at 850MV core and 900MV memory 1100Mhz/2100MHz

Used the overdriveNtool for the tweaking.

Nvidia cards i have at 80% power target (Msi Burner) and 500MHZ mem OC.
