Personally I have put more than 20% = ~40kUSD into the crypto space. I was only a signature away from a bank loan of 80kUSD in december which I am not extremely happy did not go through (would've bought BTC around 18k). In december my portfolio went from 20k to 81kUSD(was lucky to purchase DeepOnion around 2USD/DO and they hit 18USD/DO 7 days later, and today I am again hovering around 25-28kUSD.

About 2% or so.

I was only a signature away from a bank loan of 80kUSD in december which I am not extremely happy did not go through (would've bought BTC around 18k).

Isn't this is a good thing, you would've bought bitcoin at a rate nearly 100% more than it is right now? Sounds like the bank saved you, at least in the short term.

In december my portfolio went from 20k to 81kUSD(was lucky to purchase DeepOnion around 2USD/DO and they hit 18USD/DO 7 days later, and today I am again hovering around 25-28kUSD.

So you are down by about 30-40% on your initial investment? Sounds like you should've sold those onions when they were so high.

It is a bad idea to get principal money from a loan. You get risk in your investment and you also pay interest. I always make sure that I only use money that I can afford to lose in any investments that I make.

I did not bring out any fiat to buy any crypto. Any altcoins or bitcoin that I have right now was paid from the money I get from signature and bounty campaigns.

I've probably put in the realm of 5 percent, though at my age it's fair to put in such an amount because I can tolerate the loss. I wouldn't think that people in their 60s would throw a high percentage of their net worth into crypto because they're going to be relying on this money soon enough. 20 percent is a pretty high amount, it'd be worthwhile if you shared your age with everyone here so we knew what you can tolerate (risk wise) at that age.

Goodluck dude, hope the market treats ya well.

I don’t have much money saved up outside of a retirement plan, but a big chunk of what I do have is in cryptocurrencies. I’m not sure if the percentage but it’s probably over 50%. That seems high but keep in mind that I do have a retirement plan at work that should take care of the majority of my retirement. This is just the extra money that I put in cryptos.

I invested a lot of money from my bank account over several months when the price of bitcoin was $900... and I also invested in many altcoins that caused me 100% losses. in the end in the crypto world you get a profit and also you get losses, so that someone should never make loans to invest in the crypto world because that would be a fatal mistake for that person

not required to borrow a bank to play crypto...

make loans to banks to invest in bitcoin and altcoins is a serious mistake that someone can commit

it'd be worthwhile if you shared your age with everyone here so we knew what you can tolerate (risk wise) at that age.

probably most people would laugh at him if he did

I invested only money earned in bounty campaigns. And I do not see yet much additional investment from outside. Especially if it's credit money.

Something close to 15% in my case is what I have invested in crypto and I do not have plans to expand in that direction for the time being, however never make the mistake of investing in something with borrowed money, if you fail at your prediction you will be many times worst than at the beginning and it seems one of the best things that happened in your life was that loan not being granted to you since you were about to buy bitcoin at 18k.

I invested something like a little over 500% but here me out before you call me the world's dumbest dumb dumb.

1) I am a young 20 person who has no kids and wife
2) My amount was small, dont think the 500% is a house or trust fund (its not)
3) This is literally once in a lifetime opportunity, this industry hasn't changed in 400 years

So yeah call me dumb but I saw the risk v reward accurately weighed it out and thought it was a good decision. It will be an even better one this summer when I can cash out (and believe me my calendar is marked Wink), and if all goes sour so be it, I am prepared for this too.

I'm around 90% in cryptocurrencies, 6% in cash and about 4% in the bank. At some point in my life I've decided that I want to stay away from banks and be able to pack my bags and go if anything happens in my country. I prefer to have my money under control and I'm not counting on the government to give me anything. There's already problem with access to healthcare and the pensions are ridiculously low. If BTC ever becomes huge, like 100k USD huge, I'll buy a huge boat and live the rest of my life sailing from one tropical island to the other and living every year in a different part of the world.

Having the initial investment made through a bank loan is not the best idea of all. You can not always oredict the market. It may take a wrong turn aswell.
Anyways, i have been putting  upto 10-15% of my capacity into crypto. Have got pretty good returns in past but recently the market got really disturbed. Though from experience i have learned not to be a panic seller ot pani buyer, thus kept my holdings ideal and now since the market is gaining back its strength it happened to be a good idea.

Err, how can you invest 500%? Doesn't make sense.

I'm guessing you mean that you took out a loan or something so that you could invest more, that's still technically liquidity so the maximum you can invest is up to 100%.

I also do the same thing as you ... the result of a 60% campaign I always invest in crypto .. because I think if we invest from outside and use the bank credit money it is very high risk because we do not know when it will rise and will down..

I'm with a lot higher %, like 80ish+ range, but only with my own resources, without bank credits and so on.

In fact,  due to crypto money I made in last 18-24 months, I cleared all my debts for institutions.

You cannot invest more than 100% since that number will represent everything you have no matter how you got it, however what you did was risky, as long as you understand the consequences of your actions and you can live with your decision in case you fail then it is fine but very few people do, so be careful, it is easy to think that cryptocurrencies are going to make us rich, but we need to remember that is a huge risk, it may pay off but maybe it wont.
