There are a lot of Filipino Facebook groups that scam newbies. I got wary of this issue because one of my friend got scammed because he joined a "pool" but after a lot of promises the one that "pooled" their coins just vanished in an instant.

Please my Filipino friends, beware of FB groups because most of the posts there will just make you lose money.

I've been joining a lot of cyptocurrency Facebook groups and have found most of them to be filled with scams- it's really sad to see how many people fall for them to, usually double your money or MLM scams Sad

I just feel bad on those who got scammed because most of them are newbies. They might get the wrong idea that bitcoin is a scam.

Another common scam that I see is people selling Ledger Nano S wallets. PLEASE buy only from the official site, never from resellers from online groups as you might lose your coins this way.

i heard one news that that some scammers even go to HongKong to scam oversees filipino workers there. First, they pose as investment specialists and provides training for them, even "certifying" them with a license to act as "crytocurrency experts" or something like that. They ask you to pay with a certain amount and they say it's investing with a kind of new coin. Sad It makes me angry listening to that.

So beware not just in facebook but with these kind of schemes.

Scams are every where not just on your country it is well spread around the world so if you are not wise enough then you will be fall on that trap. Better not to depend on any group, start learning by your own it is more safe than any other be careful next time.

Im going to say good luck to scammers.  It will get trace.  Keep the BTC address and give it to the exchanges.  It can slow them down.  Its not perfect but this would catch the stupid scammers.

What would help greatly if they give a fake name.

Always pressure them to ID themselves with selfie picture,  written date and QR code (BTC address your sending btc to) next to them.   When join the groups.   It will always stick to them forever.

Dont join if they cant do this.

Sad to hear that kind of essue. That's one reason why other people discourage bitcoin, other say that bitcoin is not real and you will get hack. It just not happen in the Philippines but also in other countries. It's better to learn about what's the basic and step by step understanding of bitcoin before investing.

This is very sad news, many people are riding Bitcoin’s popularity and taking advantage of orther people, I have seen many of these groups and I think we who understand Bitcoin should take action to combat those scams through information campaigns for people to know the truth. If these scams continues, it will affect Bitcoin’s reputation as newbies will associate the coin with scams.

These people are actually thise detroying the good image of Bitcoin. People would think bitcoin is really a scam because of their experience in this thing. I feel very bad because there are people doing this. For thise newbies, beware of thise kinds of promises especially when they promise you a big return or profit instantly.

I think we have to warn people about these groups and maybe report them to make them disappear.

one of the meaning is trust to earn here in crypto because we can't see all of the works here and listen only for others promises to earn some money so better to risk in already trusted like in different exchanger here

if your here in crypto better to listen here in forum because we have veterans users here so it's good to listen to them

That’s right. Actually, I heared some issues and news regarding this kind of topic. Some people say that they are now getting high profits and salaries and they will tell you to invest in their site or to send them some bitcoins in order for you to be helped by them. But some instances, there are people that are not scammers, and they are legitimate. Hence, try to legit check the person and check out his or her accounts if he or she is legitimate or not.

Just like that most of the cases of scamsare targeting the newbies because they don't have enough knowledge yet on how to check if a transaction is fake or if the person is trusted  through the documents he had presented.  For us not to get scammed, we should teach the basics for the newbies in order for them to secure themselves from getting scammed. And don't click links because most of the time these links will lead you to phising sites and will ask you for your personal informations so think before you click if you still value your money.
