What do you think will be the biggest trends this year for successful cryptos?  Im thinking privacy, platforms, interoperability, security.

Now is the time for cryptocurrencies to actually show they have a real world value and can offer a service that generates a profit. While many will still be used for payments etc and don't generate a profit, many are looking to compete with more traditional businesses and earn profits.

I think there will be no specific area that will have and edge this year. But I would suggest that you to focus your attention mostly on ICO's. There are a lot of good an upcoming coins with new technology. And given the fact that they are already adapting some of the technologies of the old coins. Net, 2018 would be the year of ICO's.

People only look at those qualities because of one thing: they can translate to high growth. Crypto, sadly, is still dominated by speculators looking to grow their money rather than actually believing in their potential in real-world use. Growth has always been the bottom line, and it doesn't look like that trend will change anytime soon.

As the public continues to learn about the tremendous capabilities of blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies, more and more people are trying to buy in. The massive market boom in December 2017 forced many exchanges to close their doors to new users due to server accommodation constraints, while others began to require a length identity verification process.

i don't think privacy is going to be that great because it is not the main concern of users.
instead what most people are concerned about is two main things:
- making money: which means more pump and dump altcoins, more ICOs and more high risk investments with lots of scams and lots of money losses.
- transacting funds, or looking for a currency: and for that we may see some improvements and hopefully something new. but i don't have much hopes for competition with bitcoin ever since bitcoin started its lightning network.

I would pick up security as the one that will be gaining the upper hand for this year that is if there would be new projects that would venture into this field. We are all aware of the many hacks on big sites were done and on individual level the many phishing acts done resulting into millions of coins and tokens lost to scammers. We need a better system that will adequately challenge this problem posed by people who are using their skills and talents to destroy others. In addition, we will be witnessing the resurgence of AI and data-related ICOs.

I think there will be no specific cryptocurrency that will boom and become successful. Everything in cryptocurrency is bound to volatility, so in any time of the day they could presumably lost or raise the price high than what it has been. I can say, you search and read all parameters the coins you want to invest to minimize losses.

Something which creates better accessibility for the masses. Maybe a simple wallet with a good looking GUI, which allowed atomic swapping among the currencies held on the wallet.

The trend for now is the people is motivated to the bitcoin and the other cryptos i like to say that the trend of bitcoin will be grown in the year 2018 and this year will bring some happiness for us as we if interested in the bitcoin and other crypto then it will be future prospect for us. Yep all of these will be a huge deal in 2018 and there are a number of platforms releasing this year working on all of these things including Tezos, Wanchain with Monero coming out with its mobile wallet. Alts are going to have a big year this year.
