transactions over the range of a whole minute

Seriously. Someone doesn't understand how cryptsy works and took a snapshot of portion of a much larger overall MEC trade as evidence of low volume. Seriously, that guy needs to get a life. I really don't understand the point of going through the trouble of making stuff up just to hate on a coin (presumably in an attempt to get the value to drop) when you could just buy it outright and still be rich when it increases 1000x in value later.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Megacoin's trade volume speaks for itself.

Yeah, sure...

There is no volume, it's pure manipulation.
Sometimes (but rarely), you can find suckers who pay 1 or 2 btc but that's all.

If someone want to push up the price that way, do you really think he/she would do the work and ad for any single transaction a decimal value to the 8th count? i would do this in one single transaction, while it is all to the same ammount...
I guess it is a bot or similar...

There were some really big buy ups of MEC in the recent days. If I'm not mistaken a 100.000 MEC buy in one big swoop.

Edit: Here we go again.

Drew. is a child.  Hazard a punk.

Megacoin's trade volume speaks for itself.  I am sure btc-e is more interested in that then our little petition.

Actually, it's MΣC's market cap that speaks for itself.

I believe I also read that MEC/BTC was the pair with the highest number of trades so MEC is proving to be very popular. Smiley

You guys will have to forgive me, but I see it as almost perfect. Every great story needs an evil henchmen and his minions working to destroy the hero. You have to admit, it's more than a bit comical.  Wink

When Megacoin solves the problem of it's slow ass transactions that's when it will be a good idea to put it on busier exchanges, it took me almost two days or so to move my coins to Cryptsy to sell and yes I had payed a transaction fee, it's been having problems related to speed close to the earliest versions.

one of your own quotes - "I always have immense respect for people who can simply admit they don't know about something rather than just make up bullshit"

I've never heard of any person nor have I experienced myself any such problems with MEC.

There is nothing slow about Megacoin, but if you need help using Cryptsy let me know. Please sell off your MΣC, supplies are running low.   Wink

MEC has a stronger market cap I believe, so it will catch the interest of the exchanges

Not related to btc-e only but generally MEC and exchange related so thought I would post here for anyone who didn't see in the official Megacoin thread.

We were talking about getting MEC onto other exchanges and Alienwalkerx and bholzer said that they had contacted vircurex.com about getting MEC traded on there, and suggested I do the same so I did. I just politely asked if they would consider adding MEC to their exchange and briefly described some of the features of MEC that set it apart from other copycat currencies.

Some things you could mention:

"Kimoto Gravity Well" difficulty adjustment algorithm -- Unique, secure difficulty adjustment algorithm for stable hashrates and confirmation times.
Completely redesigned, unique interface -- the official Megacoin wallet has a unique, well-designed, and most of all easy-to-use interface that can easily be used by both beginners and experts.
Based on the latest and most secure Bitcoin client -- Megacoin is Scrypt-based but is [as far as I know] the only Scrypt coin forked from and built upon the latest Bitcoin release source tree.
Greater anonymity (Soon) -- Megacoin is in the process of implementing ZeroCoin [and/or maybe Coinjoin?] for anonymous transactions, keeping your identity and financial information safe from unwanted eyes.
Solid track record -- [As far as I know] Megacoin has run steadily and securely since it was fairly launched.
Dr. Kimoto -- Don't forget to mention the enigma who makes it all possible, Dr. Kimoto himself! He is after all, the genius behind all the madness.

I will try to contact some other exchanges in the same manner to see if we can get some more places trading MEC. I encourage you all to do the same!
