So after hearing all the horror stories on here about paypal chargebacks, it is nice to finally have a happy ending story, so I figured I would share.
Someone (who I thought was my friend) I sold some bitcoins to a couple of months ago via paypal. The only transaction in my 2 years of using bitcoins, I have ever done with paypal, mind you. I have heard countless horror stories, so I always avoided it.
So knowing all this beforehand, just to be safe, I sold my friend a PDF file, via email and kept all the receipts and proof of shipping through email. Legitimate sale, and I have known this person for quite sometime so never though in a million years when I check my email this morning, I have a chargeback case. (Sigh Humanity
)
Immediately I upload all the proof of payment, including the actual email, and call Paypal. Paypal puts me on hold and when I get back from the call not only am I informed that they are going to fight for me, but I am going to be reimbursed immediately for the chargeback, using a one time exemption, because of my years with paypal and my outstanding proof. So in literally 2 hours, I have my money back, and will notified with the case resolution regardless.
Either way it is a win-win for me, and I have to say being a loyal customer, (and the internet savant that I am
) never felt so good.
Sorry for the tirade, just wanted to share a positive story after all the years of horrible ones people have had getting chargebacked.
Happy trails bitcoiners, and remember stay away from Paypal (for Bitcoins)!!
