we are planning to create a Race Builder so the community will be able to add new coins/tokens and even races with different presets. With race scheduler game creators will be able to plan laps and pay for starting of laps with RACE tokens.

How we calculate the time-based penalty?
 
1. We have 4 hours of race
2. Imagine that you bet when 2 hours passed.
3. Formula is 2 hours / (4 hours / 100% ) = 50%
4. So 50% = penalty from stack
5. Imagine you bet 50 RACE coins
6. We calculate the penalty in tokens: 50 bet tokens / 100% * 50% = 25 tokens (penalty)
7. Your final stack is 50 tokens - 25 tokens = 25 tokens

You are right! RACE protocol can be adjusted to any type of bets. And currently we implemented betting on crypto coins/tokens. But there is no problem to generalize and make it more abstract to be able to use for betting on any type of entity.
