http://labs.bittorrent.com/experiments/sync.html

bittorrent sync tech allows for distributed folder/file syncing.

if this were modified/expanded to allow for synchronizing/caching an entire website, the mirroring nodes could charge bitcoin to access/synchronize to the website which would be partially funneled back to the original  content creator. the more nodes that mirror the content, the more the original content creator can charge the first generation of mirror/nodes.

a browser could access multiple synced/mirror nodes for massive speeds, circumvent ddos, circumvent censorship.

people running mesh network nodes would then get financial compensation to spread sites with high demand.

authenticity may be addressed by hashing a value that describes the site being synched essentially signing the synching information and the time date of the creation.

I'm not sure how to address live interaction with the site. I'll leave that up the web developers to figure that out.

any thoughts on this?

Be very wary of relying on JavaScript for security on crypto sites. The site can change the JavaScript at any time unless you take unusual precautions, and browsers are not generally known for their airtight security.

Yes, the time is right to develop an open source system for decentralized hosting of websites, messaging and cryptocurrencies.
Something faster, better and easier than Freenet. But our governments will eventually try to block this network.
So the next step is to create a decentralized mesh network that is not dependent on the regular Internet, this should be done in five years (2018)

This could be solved with a combination of mesh routers around the world and a few hundred small satellites around the globe containing mesh routers and hosting nodes.
The satellites will cost less than $10000 and 500 of them should be enough, with a total budget of 5 million raised on Kickstarter.
We had this discussions a few months ago here:

Transferring Bitcoin through radio signals?

Some Kickstarter projects sending up small satellites:
