Hello World, (I knew that script would come in handy one day)  Wink

Well, n00b pretty much covers it with me.  My wife and I are wanting to get involved with BitCoin so here I am.  I wasn't aware of all of the individuals buying/selling BTC.  I thought you had to go to an exchange to do anything like that.  As a result I feel like I'm starting all over.

I have MultiBit running on a Unbuntu box but haven't created a wallet yet because I'm not sure how to get anything into it.  I'm stoked to be on the forum and am looking forward to doin some BitCoins.

Thanks,

rocket

welcome to the forum!

Multibit is a good choice, however, you might want to check out online wallets: blockchain.info & inputs.io are great and legit. it'll help you understand Smiley

Welcome, buying/selling BTC from individuals is much riskier than from exchanges.

Welcome

Hopefully you create wallet and fill it with some dust from free faucets just for testing. This is how I did it - hard to spend the dust though  Wink

Welcome! If you are in the United States, then check out coinbase! They buy and sell bitcoins, and also setup a online wallet for you! Plus they pay the transaction fees for you as long as you send more than 0.001 btc...
