Yo!

I just started mining using the USB ASIC's available for sale here from another member...I'm pleased with the performance I'm getting off my raspberry pi miner.

My initial observation:
Seems like the biggest challenge to bitcoin adoption (and thus mining profitability) is the current difficulty in obtaining bitcoins quickly (ie, not by mining)

My personal experience is that to make a purchase from someone who ONLY takes bitcoin, it takes far too long...I'm currently in process of purchasing a bitcoin through coin base...it's been a week and I still don't have my coin...it's "pending" due to the time it takes for money transfer/etc...There's got to be a better way.

Anyway...I'm starting to mine, so perhaps this won't be such an issue moving forward for me, but we need to make it easier for the masses to buy our hard earned coins if we want to see their value grow.

Happy to be here!

yes, you can.  Usually mining on your computer won't even be close to the eletricity you will use.  So don't mine with your computer, unless you want to just test it out.

Hi Fairly new to this myself.

What I see as a problem in mining the increase in miners and increasing difficultly of mining.

So today doing ~2GH/sec puts me ~3000-~2500 place in pool so I'm getting a fair number of shares and earn .02BTC every couple of days.

But when some new team joins with 10 10GH/sec blades that will push me way down the list. Also as bunches of miners like that come one line it forces  up the difficulty level for everyone. So I'm still mining a 2GH/Sec but earning .02BTC a week then a month and so on.

Merge mine BLC+PHO+ELT+XDQ+BBTC+UMO+LIT pool is open http://la1.blakecoin.com tips: 1MogRiTHpQZ7bkpq49cSVWADrTt7Jrghp

Dont really recomend you to mine its better just to buy bitcoin cause mining with asic lets say 60 gh/s never going to pay for it self because of bitcoin difficulty and plus electricity but still welcome to the forum Smiley
