I'm a big believer in blockchain/cryptos because they cut out the middle man and one area where I believe where that can really be a factor is with travel platforms. The middlemen (Agoda, Expedia, etc) make a lot of money and there is a more efficient way to handle bookings.

There are a number of upcoming travel ICOs. Does anyone have any advice? Anyone have any opinions on these or others?

I see TravelBlock, a Canadian company, Concierge, launching on NEO, and TravelChain. I'm sure there are others.

Isn't the smart contract the middle man? Usually they take a portion of the transaction.

Besides that I am not sure how you can cut out the middle man completely. Can you describe how that would work in the travel industry?

Fair question. Take a look at this story: https://uk.reuters.com/article/us-travel-stocks/online-travel-sites-getting-squeezed-by-airbnb-hotel-chains-idUKKBN1D7363

So you can see that the common practice now is to use Expedia, etc. to search for hotels, book and so on. They take a large chunk of the hotels booking.

It's like travel agencies back in the day. They took huge cuts, were inefficient and got greedy. Tech replaced them. Now these guys have gotten greedy. New platforms can make it more efficient, more transparent and cut out these costs so customers and hotels save/have incentive to use it.
