I have 9 cards, and I can’t seem to get hash rates and power consumption that is being thrown around here. HIVE OS says:
5x XFX and 4x MSI using ~100W each.

But my Kill-a-watt says using Corsair CX850M Bronze:
XFX 173 at the wall (875mV, 1095/2000) 28.3 MH/s & 283 MH/s Pascal
MSI 192 at the wall (900mV, 1100/1875) 26.8 MH/s & 268 MH/s Pascal

The description in HIVE OS is to not trust it too much since its from the driver however these numbers are more inline with numbers I’ve seen here.

My test method is very simple and straight forward: hook up only the riser and PCI to the power supply that is on the Kill-a-watt. Even at a conservative 82% efficiency, that is 142W and 157W and my bios setting is at 120W max power limit. What’s going on? Is this normal?

if dual mining the normal would be 150 and if eth only then normal would be 110.

might be in modding your Bios, there are straps that are low power but a bit low in hash, might be also true on your case, choose the right timings for your cards.

check the actual voltage using msi after burner, I suspect your actuaal voltages are way higher than 875
