Archos Safe-T mini - New Hardware Wallet.

In a few months(June 2018),new hardware wallet should be available on the market.The firm behind this project is French manufacturer Archos in partnership with Domraider.The device will be fully manufactured in France(same as Ledger).

Safe-T mini will support all OS,it will have USB connection,OLED display and hardware buttons.Price of this device should be 62$,but Archos partner Domraider will add 50 euros worth of DRT in co-brander version DomRaider.

-LCD: OLED 128x64p
-Size: 58mm x 7,8mm
-Connectivity: Micro USB HID 2.0

Device looks pretty nice,differently from other available hardware wallets,although some may not like a round design.I think that with the mentioned price Safe-T mini can certainly compete with Ledger and Trezor.

Looking at the screen mock-ups... that looks suspiciously like a "clone" of the Trezor... much like the Chinese "knock-off" known as the "BWallet":


They both have the same screen layout with the icon in top left, and the "black text on white background" labels for the current button command as the Trezor.

Still, nice to see another player in the hardware wallet space... competition is generally a "Good Thing"™

The price tag of 49 Euro's is definitely competitive with that of the Ledger Nano's. The concept does look fairly similar to the BWallet as HCP has shared but I guess there's not much to say until they make a video of their on-hand usage. It would've been nice to have a touch screen input for the PIN but I guess it's still a good start with the OLED panel. I hope along with the total security features in mind, they also indent to make the source code for the user interface, core program and applications (assuming it's similar to how the Ledger and Trezor operators when not connected to a software wallet like Electrum).

I guess an update to the screenshot on the "configuration" page for the web interface / GUI to a more relevant one would be cool. Looks like the current one features some sort of a dashboard representing some demonstration data. Overall, It's good to see more competition picking up in the hardware wallets segment which I guess should help drive down the price in the long term.

I don't think it will be a product 100% manufactured in France but just assembling. I think it's what they do with the cheap phones, they buy from China manufacturers and then assemble the parts in another country...
Last year, it launched a range of electric vehicles (bicycle, hoverboard, skateboard, etc.). Now with this project, look like they want to make everything héhé

ARM Cortex M3 processor is not as secure as Ledger

This product must be a joke. They still haven't shown a working prototype. The funniest thing is that they even copied the screen image from TREZOR resources, the address you can see on their device is actually an address which belongs to one of the TREZOR's employees. If they ever manage to manufacture this product, TREZOR might be forced to lower the price of their first model, mostly due to community pressure. Honestly, I'm afraid that one of my family member could accidentally use that hardware as a coaster. I hope it's at least waterproof...
