SourceForge has been hacked. Any idea yet if BitCoin was compromised? It is one of the few things I downloaded from SourceForge recently.

Maybe you should post a md5sum of your bitcoin tarball, if this can reassure you.

Here is mine, which I downloaded December, 13th :

67c0d4a5c7310a94ee1ed8b2effa22cb  bitcoin-0.3.19-linux.tar.gz

And here is the sha256, in case you're paranoïd enough not to trust md5 Smiley  :

59e9caf30db34e6a5a86569c07c34305b4c4eae4e3f9b7757aaecc02fba83583  bitcoin-0.3.19-linux.tar.gz

At the end of the day, the debate between communism and capitalism is not an economic one, because economics is not a reliable science.  It's a moral one.  It's whether or not people should be allowed to not care about other people's problems. I, for one, am not enthused by the idea of a world where everyone would be enslaved in order to avoid that anyone is miserable.
