It depends entirely on the user, usually you should be fine as long as you don't enter it on some random/untrusted sites and keep it in a safe place.

You should provide a more detailed information about your problem. What exactly happened? Where did you enter your private keys? How did you store it?

Using private key is not safe?I used private key but I was hacked all my assets are gone..what should I do?

Did you share your private key in any sense?? private keys should never be shared, for it allows others to get access to your money.
Private keys are secure but only if you manipulate them in the correct way.
Maybe if you know whom you give to your private key, then you maybe are able to regain your btc.
I answer to you that based on your question. You directly asked if the private key is secure, it is as if you were asking if the NIP from your bank account is safe, well, it will always depend on you, if you shared it then it will be not secure at all.
Have I explained myself?

If you need any more help, please formulate your question in a more specific way. As I understood, you gave your private key to someone and then you lost your money. Is that correct?

Your wallet will be safe if no one has access to your private keys. Someone must have hacked your computer or you may have left your private key in a public place where others could see it. Is it possible that you inadvertently posted your private key somewhere but meant to post your public key? If you’re new at this, I can see a mistake like that happening.

Not enough information to help. If you're talking about the address you used for your bounty spam campaigning, then it's never had any Eth. Only "EthLend" tokens, whatever they are.

Is it a different address? Can you share the transaction IDs? The (public) wallet address?

3 boards now, and you haven't posted anything except "amg woz hax0red!".

Using private key is not safe if you do it for all to see. I'll give you an example.
You use a private key on a public computer (library, internet cafe)
Send someone your private key instead of the public one
Generate the key pair on an infected computer
Enter the private key in a public place when someone can film you doing it, take a picture
Leaving your computer unattended in a public space (at work, school)

All those things can lead to you losing your money. We need more details to be able to help.

Private is safe but not high safe. You create a another wallet and send all balance on other wallet. Do not use any google advertise wallet website because it's spam. You have use hardware wallet for high secure. Than anyone does't hack you.

Dhanems, is there something wrong with you that you need to quote other posts in the thread with no reply?

If you're trying to bump it without breaking rules, you're not being very smart about things.

Other people have asked you for more information. Provide it, or stop the spam. It's that simple.

Well, you AND someone else used your private key. Private keys are computer files and as such face the same risks as any other file. I would suspect your computer has been compromised. You will want to re-format the drive and please, please don't install an unsafe OS like windows. You want to run "open source" software on an OS like Linux.

Try writing down your private key twice on a notepad and storing them in separate locations. Don't save it as a file on your computer in case it is hacked or put in on a public forum. An external wallet maybe worth looking into.

I think private key is safe enough to protect a wallet from being hacked. Maybe you someone did steal your private key without you knowing it. Those coins that were stolen, consider it gone because there is nothing you could doi about it. Make a new a wallet and keep it safe next time.

What would that matter? if someone has your private key from location X, they would simply be able to take all your coins, it doesn't matter where you store them, and how many times. ( Unless ofcourse you use a multisignature wallet)

The private key does absolutely nothing to protect your wallet from being hacked... *sigh* ^_^

There are numerous ways in which they could get their hands on your private key. I recommend:

1. Using a bitcoin/crypto hardware wallet such as a Trezor or Ledger Nano S.

2. Alternatively, always use MetaMask when you communicate with MEW, etc.

I hope the above helps.
