There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Perhaps someone created alts in the past, and now they've logged in to participate in the Giveaway.

Yes. Here is a recent address from the last page of the thread: https://ripple.com/graph/#rsvnjitxSkseU6hTjPuURRaQzjvN98HHBQ

You can see it has been funded with 1,000 XRP. Other addresses have also been funded too.

I can confirm this, I recently posted on the giveaway page and received my XRP yesterday.

Yeah, payouts are happening faster than before. Previously it would take weeks Smiley

Lol, I think they are made for just the giveaways. I'm not sure that all of them are. Because, some of them don't seem 'that' suspicious to me. Although, the similar usernames are.

The username's are the major giveaway. If they didn't have such similar and hence suspicious usernames then I don't think there would be much suspicion about them. I'm pretty sure they were just created for the giveaway and possibly to be sold...

They were created before the giveaway started.

As far I can say this accounts are not suspicious. Because alts are allowed on this forum. I think  this accounts only wants to claim the giveaways. This accounts seems harmless because its very obvious.  Smiley

Okay, they may have been created before one Giveaway. But, there may be other giveaways that they are trying to get in.

Seems related to the hack.

Why?

To me the timing of the Hack seemed more like it already was prepared for some time and only executed now.

What would a lot of new accounts be good for in such a hack?

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

Why would the hackers defaced the site? Seems it was counterproductive if they want to claim the giveaways.  Smiley

It seems like the hackers used abandoned forum accounts to participate in the Ripple giveaway.

The giveaway has been suspended for the time being.

I've seen people with more than 50 accs posting in the reddit discussions, so I don't think this is related to the hack. Also, why would they waste their time on ripple?

Why would they defaced the site and announce their hack if they still want the giveaway?
