Needed: a client that allows the user to choose which address(es) the coins are sent from. I have done that manually with Multibit, transferring all coins in wallet to a single address before making a spend. But Multibit is currently for me unusable (cannot set tx fee), as is Armoury (too old computer). Even any web wallets with such a feature?

Electrum allows high-level control of source addresses, using its "freeze" and "prioritize" features.
I believe blockchain.info also has similar capabilities.

Excellent. That's precisely what I have required since a good while, but have ignorantly been using an outdated version of Electrum.

Bitcoin-Qt with cozz's coin control patch is even better, IMO.
I second this. I use it for all my group buys, games, escrows and other stuff with vanitygen created compressed keys. PyWallet also useful for watch-only clones and maintenance (delete keys you will never use again, or archive them into another wallet.) |

I'm patiently waiting for Armory to start using compressed keys. That's the only thing preventing me from using it. Oh, and the resource usage issues currently, as I'm still on XP and probably will be until next year. |

Does it have the same level of specific unspent output control? I guess it could be just the address, but Coin Control lets you pick not only the address, but specific unspent outputs.
Usually though, I just select all in one address and set the change back to itself to consolidate unspent outputs, such as donations or lotto prizes.

Blockchain.info failed me badly ages ago, after which the repulsive image of unsafe third party dependence hasn't vanished. The Satoshi client is very cumbersome due to large blockchain download required if not run nearly daily. Thus, my choice remains Electrum which serves all the basic functions and now source customization as well.  |

The wallet was defunct, after logging in it didn't go "online" for an extended period (weeks), effectively locking my funds. The problem persisted after changing browser etc. Although it apparently has been remedied since and export functions etc. added, it was a scary lesson what is possible to happen if you hand over full control of your BTC to an external party. |
