Yes, MEW is as safe as always have been. You still have to be very careful with your private key. I would recommend to use MetaMask and bookmark https://www.myetherwallet.com/. thats the better idea of saving your account from hacking, bookmark the official site so no other may pop up thay will mislead you since this is the only issue that make bothers more users.its the hack sites that pops on the mew portal..and today i know ty it was safer and secured using the official site.

I still use MEW to date and I still feel safe using it. the case of loss or hackers that occurred on MEW may be because the users are not careful. phishing sites are the best way for hackers to steal your coins in a wallet. keep your private key securely and avoid websites containing phishing, such as gambling or porn is a lot of phishing there.

Recently there was a split between the team behind MEW and a new paper wallet site opened up. Is MEW still safe to use with a Ledger?
I think that the key information here is "with Ledger" part. I think that split or no split, if you are using Ledger you are good and safe - you are the owner of your keys and even if MEW for whatever split-related reason ceases to exist anymore, you will be able to access your founds in another client. And using Ledger additionally safeguards the key from third parties, even if the split-related party changes the MEW site code so it is compromised.

Yes it is MEW or known as the myetherwallet , this wallet been used though and it serve us , as a storage for the bounties and still it's a lot easier to use . And it's a lot safer and trusted though.

I set gas too low on a IPO token purchase last week (ETH). 55000 limit .0000055 GWEI. Don't laugh, I did. Now etherscan reports the transaction as pending...the transaction is in lala. Will probably never complete and not sure if it would eventually error out. I did this on the Ledger, not in MEW. I want to do another transaction that will apparently replace that transaction if I use the same nonce. I think 55 gas is too much and maybe 55000 limit is not enough. What is nominal/reasonable without my having to pay more in than I need to? The ICO Telegram admin recommended 55000 gas and 55000 gas limit. From my researching such, I think that was wrong. I have since navigated MEW to where I can see the transaction and to where I can re-run it using the same nonce. It does not let me enter the spend amount. I get no response when I key in numbers. My only choice is max spend and I don't want to do that. I've connected the Ledger. MEW sees it , it etherscans, allows me to re-run it - comes up (all through MEW). I want to spend .11 ether. What am I doing wrong? Should I not even use MEW and do it on the Ledger as I did the original transaction with this time - correct entries in gas and gas limit? Can I ignore the contract data field since I'm sending ether, not erc-20? What in the world do I populate that field with if I do have to use it? More puzzling than all is my eth balance is reported as being less the .11 ether; looking as though the transaction did complete. The Ledger indicates same depleted balance. Will that balance indicated re-up after the transaction fails. That may be forever...or will the balance stay same once I do complete the successful transaction? I certainly do not want to double-deplete my balance on just one successful transaction of .11 ether. Thanks in advance to anyone that wants to take this one on. Note: the tx is 0x1e7043f22ab54703753be0a3c6752f8e8f70f95d9071a977d423e49c7ef85935. Thanks again.

Today, This Wallet is Used by so many People that it is Impossible to imagine the Consequences of break-ins, usually when I'm Reading about hacker attacks always there is a problem with the victim's computer which was compromised. I'm still Using my trezor with mew and all of the things is working smoothly Dude. You may need to feel worried about that. such as gambling or porn is a lot of phishing there.

The split of the MEW team doesn't in anyway affect its efficiency and functionality, i use MEW all the time and i haven't detected the slightest slag or change in it at all. its still just as efficient. The split just lead to another wallet coming up which is a good thing as a variety is now available to chose from

The split of MEW and Mycrypto does not mean that MEW will left behind making it hackable and less secure.
MEW is still the same as before and i believe that MEW will still be the leading eth/erc wallet.

well, so far, I always use MEW to store coins with eth platform, and until now, I am safe to use them. maybe so many hackers out there, but we also have to be careful using it. so many phishing sites out there.

Thanks for posting this, I was also thinking same today. Many coins are there and not sure is it safe to keep them after recent dispute like other party got twitter handle etc.
Our coin will be always safe if our private key will be safe too. We need to protect oue private key for our coin is safe if you can not used it to others. Hacker is always there to broke our MEW and to get our tokens. Be careful in the things that we have. This wallet is safe for me because many people here use it.

MyEtherWallet is always safe to use because it is the most popular wallet for ERC20 holders like me. almost all of my altcoins are ERC20 so I am using MyEtherWallet since I joined this forum and started to participate airdrops and bounty campaigns. MyEtherWallet is my first and only wallet that I am using until now so as long as I am taking careful of my private keys so that my Crypto Assets will be safe.

First of all: All ETH-'wallets' are just user-interfaces to the blockchain (except exchange-wallets of course). MEW and MyCrypto are both relatively safe - however you can increase your security by using the local ('offline') version to get independent of their webserver which could in theory get compromised. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2822325.0Using a hardware-wallet (like you already do) offers the highest security for now. Hardware wallets are more secure and safer from hackers and Hijackers. MyEtherWallet is indeed just a Gui for accessing our crypto assets using private key but this public and hardware keys will be saved into hardware wallets in order there would be no more private key will be saved on your computer or phone for more secure.

MEW is very safe just make sure you are on the right URL otherwise you might get fished and lose all you tokens. You need to be very careful when using your private key to get access.

Yeah you have all the controls that you can do, unlike MEW where possibility being hacked is always around, but if you are responsible and you will just follow those rules in order to secure your asset then MEW is still usable for you, make sure to bookmark the site and secure your private keys, always be aware of any possible threat inside your devices.

MEW has been my wallet since i started here and hadn't had any problem at all, so i'd say it is still safe to use. I find MEW very easy to use. But most of all, this wallet is ERC-20 tokens compatible. Just don't entrust your private key to anyone and be sure to have a hard copy of it for safekeeping.

Ofcourse, yes. MEW is safe to use because it is very secured and all you have to do to keep it secured is to avoid phishing sites. Many already proved that MEW is a safe wallet, including me.

In any case, it is not fully clear whether they have solved their technical problems. I think while it is cautious to treat MEW, you know it yourself.

Some are already signing in their Mew's private keys and address but it is better to make sure that it is totally safe or your gonna use other methods of accessing your wallets and transfer all your tokens that it is still in your wallet that is already hacked by someone.
