Another FUD made by a rich guy.
Yet we don't know if they really have knowledge about this king of technology.
What they say about bitcoins can't summarize it's essence.

Anonimity is for the sake of the users, safety and security is what they ask for and that is what bitcoins give. Yet we know the flaws.
It's just that government track such illegal activities that is why for me it's okey that cryptos can be regulated. But not for the purpose of controlling it.

What an asshat. He literally said that governments controlling your money is a good thing. Holy shit. Just goes to show that he obviously gamed the system and doesn't want it to be fair out there. He needs all the fake money that he's earned over the years to be worth something still. It won't be for long!! Hahaha

The main feature of crypto currencies is their anonymity. I don't think this is a good thing. The Governments ability to find money laundering and tax evasion and terrorist funding is a good thing. Right now crypto currencies are used for buying fentanyl and other drugs so it is a rare technology that has caused deaths in a fairly direct way. I think the speculative wave around ICOs and crypto currencies is super risky for those who go long.

I dont think why billgates say this one, maybe he dont want to make their friend relatives and other people to lose their money in bitcoin because the price go down and go up rapidly. I agree to him because it is risky

Anyway, Bill Gate is not going to be here forever, but Bitcoin and cryptocurrency will stay here for a long time and will eventually evolve let us not listen to this old man, ok he contributed a lot but this is a new technology that he seems taking a hard time to comprehend.
yes, I agree with you, we'd better cover the ears of everyone who makes us doubt the bitcoin, including bill gates.

he has the right to argue, but crypto will survive to provide benefits to its users. and now there are many countries that will use crypto as currency.

all people that use bitcoin know about it why bill gates say that again even if he said that the people will obey and follow immediately what he wants? I dont think so. even he use his power because his the most rich guy I dont think that he said will stop all investors to invest in bitcoin all people want some income even its risky and their money is at risk they will continue invest in bitcoin whatever happens. not bill gates or other rich persons can stop investors to invest in btc.

Have already read this article before on reddit and i was just wondering why he sounds like that where in fact he owned thousands of bitcoin. So ironic to think the richest man invest on bitcoin and oppose on it too.

Something tells me that he invests in crypto, may be not directly, may be via futures contracts or other financial instruments.

It doesn't seem fair if you say cryptocurrency will kill someone, because the currency of the country can kill someone too, if webuse it in wrong way. Cryptocurrency Formed with its own uniqueness, and an technology also have an excess and deficiency, and this deficiency is utilized to make bad news for investor, and they use this to buy coin in low price.

Weird. I've owned cryptocurrency for almost 3 years now and never once have I bought fentanyl or other drugs. Since apparently that's all Bitcoins are good for I guess it must be everyone else on this thread right? Oh you guys don't either? Hmm. Weird.. I think Bill Gates forgot his source on this one. Maybe we should get his facts straight and show him that far more crimes are commited with fiat and then let's even go far to see the # of crimes vs the actual value of the currency. Let's call it crimes per capita. I would be shocked if Bitcoin was higher than fiat. Criminals have used fiat for generations and now all of a sudden we're supposed to believe that crypto is going to take over the drug trade? Come on. No one wacked out of their mind could figure out how to send some Bitcoins right away. This is just ridiculous.

Some of the world's leading investors have considered bitcoin madness, with some warnings to avoid it "like an epidemic" and others say it's okay to invest.

Bill is right, Dealing in crypto is risky, but we all know the risks involved and those who don't are advised to do their research and find out more. my concern however is, why does critics always focus on the negative perception of cryptocurrency, i mean every technology has its negatives, the internet itself gave birth to cyber crime. Crypto has lots of strengths and i think we should focus more on the strengths than dwelling so much on the weakness.

I don't think we should be worried about it. I hate people who change their mind so easily without any particular reason? Cryptocurrencies cause deaths? Don't be silly, a lot of illegal things are still being bought using dollar or some other fiat. Cryptocurrencies make such transactions easier but it doesn't mean that they are their cause. If someone wants to buy drugs, they will buy them even if we banned Bitcoin. Something must have happened to him.

Now crypto currency is used to buy fentanyl and other drugs, so this rare technology directly carries death. I think that the speculative wave around the ICO and the crypto currency is too risky

It's funny because a while back he said

Quote
Bitcoin is exciting because it shows how cheap it can be,". "Bitcoin is better than currency in that you don't have to be physically in the same place and, of course, for large transactions, currency can get pretty inconvenient."

Do you see the irony, or hypocrisy, as you want... Yet fiats are by far more used for any illegal activity, and I doubt people are buying fentanyl with crypto currencies. I don"t even know where he got this...
That change of mind probably has to do with governments asking that he stopped backing bitcoin, after all he is probably one of the most known people when it comes to computers now that Steve Jobs died, since he is so influential the powers behind the curtain are asking of him to spread bad comments about bitcoin so this slows down adoption.

@vit05, let me comment in this manner, a story was told about some group of zoologist who where afraid about the size of a specific animal (the elephant) They find an averge elephant weight about 100 - 120 Kg (220 lb) approv. when compare to the size of a fully grown one's

Now, based on the figures, they decided to device a way to trick, that is by chaining the elephant when they are still young in order to be able to control them when they are fully grown. Today, we've seen the effect of this trick on the elephant. They still work very slowly as if, they are still chained to a big tree.

This is what is happening today in our society. we have been so brain-wash that nothing else mean's much to us.

We tend to enjoy thing's which tend to  keep us in bondage. pay tax, transparency in currency..ecc.

Most people are more miserable today with the existence of more security measures compare to when there are less security measures.

In conclusion,  govt. can also track the purchase of sophisticated weapon if, they want to, if, such payment was made through the use of virtual currency. They  can do this by tracing  the destination of the package in order identify the sender.

Thanks

The same thing , either in bitcoin or local money, no ones controlled tax evasion, money laundering , funding terrorist or buying drugs, just anywhere in the world. They said that what else money can not do? They just can do it even there’s no bitcoin. One thing that bitcoin users  were being an anonymity.  It depends how you use bitcoin in your life. If you want to go straight  with your aims about bitcoin with no wrong doings, then been so good. Bitcoin just help people to rise up their living through its  projects and platforms. Bill Gates knows it  through social media, nobody doing bad in there. Just showing their support to crypto currencies no more ,no less.

Maybe he is right in some area, even a local currency may used for terrorist and other currency to laundering. Before cryptocurrency exist, dollar already used for terror.
