Hello everyone -

I'd like to introduce our new private, anonymous, e-mail service:

The Lelantos Project.

We are a non-profit organization that believes in an individual's right to privacy. E-mails are more than just written communication - they allow for the free, unfettered exchange of ideas.

We do not believe that private e-mails were to be shared amongst 3rd parties, filtered, searched, and stored for years. Then retrieved by various government agencies or other hostile entities around the world.

Our systems have been built for resilience and security in the surveillance age:

- All our servers and e-mail data are encrypted.
- Hot standby backup servers are located in geopolitically different locations.
- Multiple clear-net e-mail domain names to choose from, with more added over time.(coming soon)
- Optional secure delete - delete all e-mail older than six months.(coming soon)
- Our mail relays do not know our mail server location or IP addresses.
- All communication between our servers is encrypted and through Tor.

This service is run by a small group of people that share like interests in counter-economy, privacy, and freedom of the mind.

Our service is at:  lelantoss7bcnwbv.onion

I would like to offer 5 free lifetime memberships to veteran members here on BitCointalk.org who would like to check out our service. If you are a veteran member on this forum, and have the time to check out our service and give us any helpful advice before we promote this in a larger way - please contact me through PM or e-mail support@lelantos.org.

To everyone - please enjoy our new private e-mail service for the community! Are our service is new, we would like to ask for any advice or suggestions from the members here on how to improve our service. Thank-you.

Sincerely,

Lelantos Support.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I'll bite. So who comprises your organization -- what kind of reputation do those associated with it have? Why should I assume that my identity is safe with you?  Smiley

Is the encryption client side it needs to be Trust no one (TNO). If you can decrypt the email I must assume there will be a time you will do so.

What do you mean exactly by this?
Encrypted hard disk partition that you have to mount manualy inserting a secret key at every reboot?

I need more info before I throw you 10$ for a lifetime email. Will this service be up 99%? What is your encryption standards? Do you have dedicated reliable sevrers hosting this?

doubt it, like any other hidden service.

I'd use bitmessage.ch (free) and/or safe-mail.net with PGP instead.

The last post is from 2013, so this service definitely does not exist anymore.

I'm aware, but was just hoping for the best.
Not much news on what happened I guess.
Oh well =/.
