Because you ban based on IP address, and trolls who use TOR can change their IPs easily, you are on the verge of banning me, BitLotto, and others who have never trolled or spammed. This may be my last posting before the last TOR IP address gets banned. I will not post from my real IP address. I had to restart my TOR client 8 times before hitting an IP address that wasn't banned.

Get a VPN. Or use Vidalia and you can just click a button instead of restarting.

IP bans are always temporary, so Tor will become usable again later as long as more people are not banned while using those IPs.

If someone would write a SMF mod that exempts certain membergroups from certain bans, I would use it...

Banning TOR on a sensitive forum like this is a very very bad idea.

Please try to figure out how to exempt already registered users from the ban.

Bitcoin Core developer [PGP] Warning: For most, coin loss is a larger risk than coin theft. A disk can die any time. Regularly back up your wallet through FileBackup Wallet to an external storage or the (encrypted!) cloud. Use a separate offline wallet for storing larger amounts.

+1 to this. Just unban tor and put a post time limit on people with sub-10 posts or something.

I don't have time to deal with it. If you don't like the current ban behavior, you can write the mod.

SMF 1.1.13

Prevent Adding Signature Images And Links    1.3
SMF File Manager    2.1.3
Ignore Boards    2.0.1

There are also a small number of custom changes.

Lol, someone still use IP ban? It's useless, especially when so many ppl have dynamic ip ISP... either you ban the world or you just banned the next unlucky person that end up using that IP  Cheesy (since the banned guy will simply change ip)
