Amero+ was an attempt to become the new common currency for Latin America, We launched our project on 09/13/2017 and were listed on Graviex for almost a year. Unfortunately our coin was delisted due to lack of trading volume.
So, we decided to step back, analize the current situation of cryptocurrencies and the cryptoeconomy in general. We see a lot of new cryptocurrencies and projects everyday, most of them failing,like our Amero+ did.
Bitcoin showed the way towards a decentralized cryptoeconomy. Although cryptocurrencies emerged as an alternative to fiat currencies by removing the monopoly of issuance of money from goverments, they continue to be fiduciary cryptocurrencies (based on faith or trust).
In 2013 NXT demonstrated that blockchain technology could be applied to much more than a monetary system, introducing a platform that allows its users to make transactions, store data, perform decentralized and immutable surveys and even represent physical and digital assets (tokens).
Ethereum and derivatives of NXT such as NEM, Waves and other platforms allowed the creation of tokens or coins that represented assets, thus achieving the theory proposed by Hayek in his book "Denationalization of Money".
However, until now there has been no mass adoption of the use of cryptocurrencies in the real economy.
Some of the main barriers are:
- High cost that entails, for organizations and entrepreneurs, adopt and adapt this technology to their products and services.
- Monopoly of production of mining equipment and mining pools.
- Centralization of transactions in Exchanges dominated by whales and large speculators that manipulate the price.

Amero Cash is a free and decentralized cryptoeconomy platform for Latin America, based on NXT under license JPL, which aims to achieve a massive adoption of the use of cryptocurrencies in general and Amero Cash in particular. Amero Cash is the currency that allows transactions within this platform, a Proof of Stake currency.
