Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

Security of a wallet depends on the version and format you have chosen, and how you use them. Your cryptocurrency wallet is not badly unsafe but still there are some instabilities and risks. This wallet can be a software in web or can be stored in your mobile phone or computer and also can use a physical gadget as wallet. Paper wallets are also available.

If you are an owner of a web wallet you will need to use trusted service. You need to safe your wallet from new scams and also fake wallets that set up tricks to steal private cryptography keys. If you are using a software wallet it requires more maintenance in the form of backups. If your computer gets stolen or corrupted and your private keys are not also stored elsewhere, you lose your bitcoin. Using a mobile wallet is also have similar problems as software wallet. In case of hardware wallets, they are generally offline and hence cannot hack. But they can be stolen or lost, however, along with the bitcoins that belong to the stored private keys. This is the safest way of storing bitcoins as it is offline while the least secure way is using a web/online wallet since the key are held by a third party.

Stored in a safe place, a backup of your wallet can protect you against computer failures and many human mistakes. It can also allow you to recover your wallet after your mobile or computer was stolen if you keep your wallet encrypted. Encrypting your wallet or your smartphone allows you to set a password for anyone trying to withdraw any funds. This helps protect against thieves, though it cannot protect against keylogging hardware or software.

First of all, wallet are secured in the first place, but due to some carelessness of the user they gat phissed by someone running a fake website similar to the wallet site. So don't forget to bookmark the site after creating your wallet so you can be safe.

the criminal is not predictable when it comes, even though we are already alert and we are optimal in securing our wallets, but still the evil hackers will continue to think hard so they can hack our assets,

I think that should be done is, we have to have some wallet that have their own function, for example there is a exchanger special wallet, there is a receiver special wallet, and there is also the main wallet, well in the main wallet you should really secure it, the main wallet is just for storing it, do not use for other things.

Where did you know that many have reported that their bitcoin wallet have been hacked? I know that there's a few, only few, reports/posts about bitcoin's wallet got hacked but I don't believe they are as many as before. And the only way to secure your funds is to buy a hardware wallet, which is so much secure than any wallet online. You can find them online, like Ledger Nano S, Trezor, etc. Most online wallet are not securely safe, so you cannot totally secure your online bitcoin wallet.

To secure your wallet you must log in your account into a private network not in a public network and where you store your username password or private keys you must save it carefully. I mean that it depends on the users on how they will store their wallet into a secure network or hardware.

To secure Bitcoin, a lot of people are recommending wallet hardware
Because, the wallet type of hardware is very rarely connected to the internet, so hackers access to our wallet so less, and the possibility of hackers to hack so smaller.

Note: if you frequently store sensitive data on your computer, I suggest that never sensitive data like your password and private key being touched by the internet, for your own security

In digital world everything should be hackable we only protect ourself. Bitcoin wallet is more safer than the fiat bank but some peoples are lavish in internet so it can be easily hackable in online. If you feel software wallet is not comfortable to you just buy a hardware wallet. It is always secured no one is hack the hardware wallet because it is 100% protected your wallet and you only access your wallet.

yes because there's a public and private address. the good thing about this is that as long as you are the only one who knows your private key its okay that everyone in bitcoin forum knows the public address. its secure. you just have to be really careful in putting the right address and know the difference between the private and public key.

That's their mistake then because bitcoin is way lot stronger in terms of its security and safety and I am sure about that. The wallet can be made secured with extra features like 3d secure password, 2FA factors and obviously our passwords. Now tell me how that is not secure in any way.

Not only this, wallets with private keys are even better in security. There is no hacker or computer that can hack such beautiful algorithm. I'm sure it's manual mistake which makes hack happen.

The wallets that are mostly hacked, is those online wallets from obscure websites that are running poor code. If you want to use online wallets, go for the more well known and widely used wallets. < Blockchain.info > I must mention here that online wallets is the least secure method to store your bitcoins.

If you are buying bitcoins as a long-term investment, I would suggest looking into paper wallets as a storage method. <Just make sure you create these off-line or on a air-gapped computer>

If you want to use your bitcoins more regularly, buy a hardware wallet. <Ledger or Trezor>

It was not Bitcoin wallets that were compromised but the database of the exchanges was compromised. Bitcoin as a technology is strong and there is no way to brute force it so if you are holding your private keys offline then there is high security, if you are holding your funds on web wallets or in exchange account then you don't know what kind of security precautions are being taken on the server side. Thus it is not recommended to hold it online irrespective of the security features.
