No, it won't happen surely because it will go inversely with original purpose of merit system when Theymos (admin) launched it.
Allocating / rewarding merit points based on online duration is stupid idea. More online time doesn't mean those users are contributive ones. They are likely spend more time in the forum to spam their shitty posts, and again quantity will dominant quality.

Good members can still spend less amount of time, but can be much more constructive than spammers. It's the fact.

Conclusion, Theymos will never allocate merit points based on online duration of forum users. Never!

Earning merits are quite difficult but its for the forums sake to avoid low quality post. Spamming is the number 1 problem in this forum but now, the merit system is implemented the shit posters are lessen. So lets just report them so that they will be elimanated or get banned.

Also, from this thread, we can say that farmed account users are now having a hard time ranking up all their accounts at once. Also we can see their connections to each other since they are giving merits to each other. Merit is doing pretty well not only on shitposters or spams but also in these matter, not only doing well, it is doing great.

That's why they try to make cheat, because they want to ranked up so fast. Merit system is a good challenged to all users but due high numbers of cheaters reputation a this system was starting to fall down.

People will find their ways to overcome something but they are doing it in the wrong way. Still, if they figure something out to abuse the system; there will be always someone that will find them doing it wrong and the mods giving the right punishment for their wrongdoings.

Let's not focus on these people that want to earn their merit and climb to the top abusing the system, it is not our job though we can help, let's focus more on making and creating good posts that will earn our well-deserved merits.

I think the merit system is useful, it's like when you give a slap on a race horse LOL makes the horse raced to run faster and faster. But if there are parties who use merit for personal gain (abuse, trade) of course it will make many growled. So before there are many more parties that cons about merit better moderator immediately block the accounts that do abuse against the merit.

"theymos" create this merit system because they just want to grow up all users, they just want to avoid ranking up of shitposters. However, even you are a good poster if you have no friends or no one knows you in this sites its hard for them to get merit. Try to review some merits and tell to anyone if they deserve to get merit? even their post is not constructive and low quality?

Well, I think those users who are always arguing about the merit system are the ones who are not competent enough to try give quality to this forum. Or they don't really care about the forum. They are only concerned about earning and they find it hard to earn a bit higher rates in this forum.
Though I am also having a hard time on the merit system, I am loving it at the moment. As a concerned user of this forum, the system runs smoothly and mods already caught lots of farm and alts.
It extends the forums life.
