That's strange, the cost and waiting time is very low right now, perhaps you were just unlucky or did you use a very low fee?

If you had of said this 2 months ago it would've made sense but not today.

"account"?
are you using bitcoin or are you using some third party website with an account and made a withdrawal? there is a big difference between the two. when you send bitcoin yourself you are making a transaction and the minimum fees are getting confirmed in next block. but when you use a service and make a withdrawal and if they take a long time to pay you from their wallet that is their problem. if you are unhappy then stop using that "account"!
but it has nothing to do with bitcoin transactions and their speed...

There is a FOMO brewing...

I think nowadays all the networks are faster so you only change the setting 8satoshi/byte is minimum transaction limit you choose less than that some problem is possible. In future you should use segwit enable wallet it is increase the speed of transaction .

This is very unusual right now. If you posted this a few months ago I would understand, but bitcoin transaction are quite decent again, both in speed and fee. The mempool is practically empty with an average of 7k unconfirmed transactions, so even if you don't pay fees to be in the first block, you shouldn't way much more than 20min to 30min for confirmation. Maybe you did something wrong. What wallet are you using?

Try for segwit wallets for faster and low transaction fees. You could just download any segwit wallet and transfer from it for super fast transaction since segwit wallets don't use blocks for transaction and would be transferred directly to other account. The only draw back of segwit wallets is you cannot do all shipping transaction in it since it is limited to few merchants only.

2 hours is not that bad, actually. It used to be way worse, especially towards the end of last year, when the transactions would take forever to complete. Hopefully, with the implementation of lightning network, things will get a lot better.
