Monthly summary not updated on stats page

I would like to know why is months summary not updated on forum stats: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats

I can see stats only till December 2017. Is it being done to hide the number of registrations from competing forums ?

I think all stats went about that time. As user stats for individuals have been inaccessible since then. My guess is this is something to do with that. I don't think there was an announcement.

I'm not sure there are any true rivals to this forum it's fairly specific for a certain part of the Internet and it's the first main one for bitcoin I think.

User stats were disable around then, it was attributed to a DDOS (I'm not sure what the connection is).

As jackg said they presumably were also disable and that would be the reason.

Theymos said he will bring user stats back and I guess forum stats will come with them.

I think it was just to omit excessive bandwidth and server use that isn't much of a vital part of the forum.

Maybe adding the stats daily to somewhere like the epochtalk server might be helpful but I'm not sure if they're actually both running from the same server or too far apart to send data to each other via wired connection. A daily update of stats would be nice here if we can get nothing more (as it's quite  an intensive operation I think based on how little it's used relatively to other stuff here). Also, due to the DDOS the automated login system was removed (the bot tokens to avoid the captchas) among other things also.
