should we create a topic for every site we would like to see accepting bitcoins? That would be a lot of threads. I know I should not yell so loudly, because I made a redundant post today myself , but maybe suggestions on who we could try to convince to use bitcoin could go in this or a similar thread: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=4667

I hope you don't mean the "getting excited" part Otherwise, I'd have to feel really bad for myself.

Freelancer.com, odesk.com, and elance.com...
ONE of these sites will adopt Bitcoin, because they are in intense competition with each other. The international/cross-border dynamics of these services is perfect for Bitcoin. I imagine these companies are watching the Bitcoin space to see how it develops. When it's more mature, they'll be racing to jump on board before their competitors.

Bingo. And actually that $10 fee is just to send the USD to an Indian bank. The worker will then have to convert to Rupees at X% additional loss.

I work with Freelancer.com, and I presented the concept of bitcoins to the staff the other day.
I also suggested that we accept bitcoins as a form of currency on the site, but unfortunately it was not well received, and with good reason.
Given the amount of fraud that we already battle with daily, I think it is extremely unlikely that Freelancer.com will be accepting bitcoins any time in the near future.
However, once the currency grows and matures I'm sure they could be convinced to take it on in the spirit of competition.

The fact that you are dealing with lots of fraud is perhaps the best reason to look into Bitcoin. Zero percent chance of chargebacks and "fake cards." Bitcoin is more safe than other forms of online payment.

Exactly. Just ask Allinvain or MagicalTux about how secure Bitcoin is!

Exactly. Just ask Allinvain or MagicalTux about how secure Bitcoin is! That's really a different issue. And if someone is concerned about that, they can cash out more or less instantly.

Exactly. Just ask Allinvain or MagicalTux about how secure Bitcoin is! Actually I bet both of them would confirm my statement. It was their own systems which were compromised and they'd be the first to acknowledge that.

Exactly. Just ask Allinvain or MagicalTux about how secure Bitcoin is! Secure against what? Allinvain suffered from security breach by windows (?). He got his wallet stolen, not bitcoins fault. MagicalTux suffered from security breach by bad password, he got his db compromised, not bitcoins fault. Bitcoin is secure against chargeback fraud.
