I am not really that active in this forum anymore...
but when I came back today...
I am seeing a lot of hacked/stolen BTC... which is very unfortunate to those people who lost their HARD EARNED BTC....
So what is going on really?
From what I can see... all the hacks were from "ONLINE WALLET"....
someone requests a password reset and such... so these online wallets will send the generic password to the email...
"WHICH" the hacker already have access to the victims EMAIL... so they see the password and go login at the ONLINE WALLET and send out all BTC....

This is what you get when you have a bunch of noobs flooding the place that don't know anything about internet security and store online wallets that don't have any encryption and aren't backed up offline.

oh yeah, that is pretty much normal sadly. people get robbed everyday no matter what currency they use. but its happening too much in those days with blockchain and some other online and offline wallets which is very strange

Bitcoin definitely wasn't made for the average consumer. I got scammed a couple of times also and lost btc because of it. always thought of it as a live and learn lesson. That's one of the reasons my people are hesitant about bitcoin

The only good wallet is a cold wallet, if you do it right.

I use the combination of a strong password, 2FA and GPG auth.

The hack was done in a very old fashion way...
EMAIL HACKING....
if the email used in ONLINE WALLET was access by the hacker...
the hacker can "REQUEST PASSWORD RESET" to the online wallet...
thus giving the hacker the password to access all the BTC...
