Yes, but with this minesweeper thing you are placing your money on a guess, in which you have no way of knowing what will happen (based on luck = betting).
With stocks, as a well-experienced stock trader, you should be able to place your money on something that will earn you back every time (based on skill and a general idea of how companies are doing = investment).

I ran the numbers on it and it has a 96% payout. Sure you may hit it big short term, but long term you are going to lose, as expected.
