I see there are several projects that have been flagged by the community as clearly scams. For example, some used fake team members. However, I still see some who do bounty works or apply for airdrops. I think it partly comes from not knowing that it’s a scam. I am pretty sure I signed up for some scam airdrops through telegram groups without knowing it was a scam. Some might be just internal scammers doing it to make it look legit as well. What are your thoughts?

if you register through ads on telegram it very difficult to find the original project. there are some that offer airdrop registration, it is just an advertisement to benefit the sender of the registration message. my advice if you want to follow the airdrop program, you candirectly view in bounty forum. there you can discuss with others about the airdrop project ..

Agreed. But some actually engage in twitter/ facebook bounty work when the community flagged it as a scam. I wonder whether they do it because they don't know it's a scam (after all, not all people check the negative trust)

Some people are just not naive and gullible enough to believe in ICOs that are obviously fake. Or maybe, the scammer was just too good at scamming that they are able to hoard attention of several people. This is the reason why we need to be cautious and careful. There are several scammers in this forum and there are also several people letting themselves be scammed. Check the authenticity first before plunging in. It is better to prevent that to cure.

It is true, I also experience a scam project before and I just support the program without noticing this. If you're a newbie, tendency is you support them if you see that they had a good offer. Just one thing I learned as well is that bounties here are more safe since you can easily ask questions to others.

There are so many project nowdays which make us confuse to choose the right one though its just bounty.
I dont think people will do bounty if they know that the project scam because they will lose their valuable time.

I have never experienced fraud. I always work on the right project and always give a profit. maybe you should be careful before starting follow project so you don't experience a scam.

People are hopeful even in the times where they were scammed. There are projects that were bashed by users in the forum but turned out to be a good investment for some. Users shout scam to these projects like ETBS but seem to end up like a cool project that distributes airdrop and this isn't just the only project there are more like DENT. No one can really tell a project is a scam until they see the team disappear.

It is only when people do not know that the project is scam that they will continue to project such projects. I am also a victim of scam airdrops where i was asked to donate some ether and get some tokens of the coins there are trying to sell through ICO. I donated and till now i did not receive the promised tokens.

Because they're some people who is not know how to read and analyze things. They're just blindly join bounty with high payment rewards thats why they are getting scammed(not getting pay for the work) it is usually happening to the shitposters out there. So guys better read and analyze things first before doing a thing.

Well it's very hard to know if a project is a scam or not. Also, some project are not scams but will still fail, because they were to ambitious, or their marketing wasn't effective, or simply because other projects were better then them. These projects will also fail, and some people will even call them scams, although they weren't.

As for your question, when a project completely "smells" like a scam (like a ponzi scheme for example) I will simply not do bounties for them, and most users in the community won't do it either, because this would make them scammers as well, and earn them negative trust. What kind of scam projects have you seen in this forum, that were supported by it's users?

People wont have any idea if the project is a scam if you dont do your own research, the team profiles should be in public if there are something that is right in their informations do not join these campaigns, they should be active in both telegram and website so that you will be sure that these people are generous, even these bounty managers arent too sure if they will get paid at the end of the ICO.

Bounty hunters are the main distributors of the scams. It's their actions that help scammers collect millions, from which hunters end up with 0 or still manage to profit from the share of the result of scam. You can minimize or completely exclude the support of the scams, doing your qualitative analysis of projects before supporting someone. Don't be lazy, this will increase your income and will be useful for the ecosystem. Otherwise, you will remain practically an accomplice in crimes.

Personally, I don't support projects in which I would not invest at least 1 bitcoin. It's better to be a quality contributor to worthy projects than a bounty hunter who rushes at everything. I'm not talking specifically about you, I'm generally talking about the current situation in this issue Wink

Well , there's a lot of project that turn to be a scam. You just need to choose where your time worth.
As for the bounty hunters, I don't know why they fall for that kind of scams. If it is look suspicious then don't join.

For those that have been clearly cut out as scams, then the moment you know about it, its just right for anyone who value his name should pull out of such campaigns but most of it still boils down to not knowing because a lot of bounty hunters just go about what they do without even checking the ANN thread or the scam section of the forum to know what's is going on and I think a lot still needs to be done on that. For those that clearly form a fake team, there are no two ways to their scam intentions which should be dealt with accordingly by the forum moderators.

Well Undecided, sometimes your leg only get trapped with scams ICOs , not only participating in bounty , but even as contributor, in some ICOs you find out their WP as solid as the others disruptive innovative ICOs, and the rating of ICO is high, and simply all of sudden you get scammed!

Personally, I get scammed by Benebit ICO  Embarrassed

Others are not aware that's why. There are people who will hunt bounties and will disregard if it's scam or not as long as they joined. Actually you can see there are bounty hunters who are still submitting reports even the bounty was closed so I will not surprised if someone will still do bounty works even the project is scam.

And for internal scammers, that is possible as for them to make legit, they must do some tricky things to attract people.

now there are a lot of fraudulent companies. you need to carefully select a project for investment. sometimes people do not even suspect that they have invested their money in a scam!
