I stumbled upon a recent news about 600 computers used to mined bitcoin was stolen from a data center in Iceland:

Here's is the full link: http://www.scmp.com/news/world/europe/article/2135555/big-bitcoin-heist-600-computers-worth-us2-million-stolen-iceland

Some 600 computers used to “mine” bitcoin and other virtual currencies have been stolen from data centres in Iceland in what police say is the biggest series of thefts ever in the North Atlantic island nation.

Some 11 people were arrested, including a security guard, in what Icelandic media have dubbed the “big bitcoin heist”. A judge at the Reykjanes District Court on Friday ordered two people to remain in custody.

The powerful computers, which have not yet been found, are worth almost US$2 million. But if the stolen equipment is used for its original purpose – to create new bitcoin – the thieves could turn a massive profit in an untraceable currency without ever selling the items.

About a few weeks ago a gang of thieves put a gun on someone and literally steal his bitcoins. Now its not just hackers on the cyber space stealing bitcoins but this is a physical crime. They are now getting bolder in their acts.

i read the story yesterday and i was shocked. looks like criminals want a part of bitcoin cake. i think for criminals are asics to mining bitcoin very interesting. they don't need to sell this miners. they can run the miners to make profit from this crime. we are living really in a bad world. so sad.

let me rephrase the article for you a little:

Quote
Some 600 computers [...] have been stolen from data centres in Iceland in what police say is the biggest series of thefts ever in the North Atlantic island nation. [...]Icelandic media have dubbed the “big bitcoin heist”.

you see how silly it sounds right now Cheesy
this is not even related to bitcoin. someone stole a bunch of computers that possibly weren't guarded good or maybe even an inside job for insurance money or something like that. and bitcoin doesn't even come in!

it is funny though, how the media is linking everything to bitcoin.

I am very sad to read the article because it is unfortunate that these criminals can steal,it would be better if they learn about bitcoin does not take long as long as there is a belief and will not be so difficult to understand it will even feel very nice to know bitcoin that can make them benefit themselves from bitcoin with its own hard work without having to do crime...
